DPS - deposit dispute with landlord

I'm just wondering if any tennants have won in regards to a deposit dispute? Currently going through one now with my landlord and it's evidence is being assessed by an adjudicator.

Cut off is 15th April but I know of a few people that have lost their case, just curious as to who's actually won?

Thanks in advance

  • My fiance had to go through one before. The disputed amount was something like £60 for cleaning. He left the place absolutely spotless, when it wasn't given to him that way, and they said it needed further cleaning. We had taken pictures of everything when he moved in and again on move out day. He submitted all this evidence and they still sided with the agents. They took a small amount off their claim so he got like some of it back, but he shouldn't have paid a thing.

That's the only experience we have with dispute through a protection scheme. Wasn't pleased really. Hopefully yours is better!

Assuming the agent doesn't own the property the dispute was never with them but the LL.

Apologies my dispute is in fact with the agents in that case, they inspected to property and similar to you, told me the place needed cleaning and it was thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom the day we left. I have a lot of photos luckily! A few other issues which I'm so angry with but only have my word and many photos to back me up
