HM Passport Office - renewal took less than a week

HMPO received my passport renewal form on 30 March. They sent me 2 text messages, to advise form received and then to advise the new passport was on the way to me.

My passport was delivered early this morning, 4 April.:cool:

I didn't use the check and send service, I just posted the old passport, cheque, photographs and form using their envelope and a first class stamp.;)

I'm impressed that the passport renewal took less than a week. Well done HMPO.:T

Mine was just as quick, Sent it off on the tuesday by first class post and it came back on the Sunday. The old passport then cam back a week later.

I was expecting to wait weeks not days.

My wife applied for her first passport a couple of weeks ago. Had her interview last Tuesday.

Received a text following day saying all processed OK.

Passport arrived yesterday morning (Sunday).

This is not on, people doing things off their own back, Why is no one using the internet to search out passport service providers and letting them do the hard work for you!

This is the best time of year to renew it.

But in the summer, people note their passport has less than 6 months on it 10 days before they go on holiday, which they booked in Feb. Then moan about the holiday maybe cancelled.

They don't just "moan" about it, they blame and spit venom at HMPO workers rather than accepting blame themselves.

I actually ordered my new passport a few days before Christmas last year. Wasn't expecting it until the new year (and in no hurry for it) but it arrived the week after Christmas. Very quick.
