Buying a flat Hampshire

Hi ,

I'm searching for my first home.

Ideally a 2 bed flat in the range of 150-160K.

I'm new to this area as I moved recently due to a work relocation and currently renting.

Could someone suggest me an area ? I already looked Winchester , Romsey and Chandler's ford seems like those areas are expensive.

You'll really struggle to find a 2 bed in any of those areas for that price.

Much more likely would be Eastleigh,Bishopstoke,Fair Oak and maybe give some Southampton areas a try.

You should have some options in Eastleigh/Bishopstoke - and these have very easy transport access to Winchester/Southampton.

What's important to you for the place you live?

Indeed, because s0d all happens in Chandlers Ford for a start!

As house prices have risen stupidly (especially in Hiltingbury where i grew up ) the demographic has massively aged.

    I was looking at persimmonhomesDOTcom/the-paddocks-at-picket-twenty-2041

seems like a new build. Is Andover nice area ? Mostly Schools and Nursery are the most important. I have a toddler who will start Nursery next year. Also not too much far from Hursley.

Andover is a fair old way out from the areas you've mentioned. 45 mins i'd say depending on how the M3 at Winchester is behaving.

You'll have other options nearer to Hursley.

Agreed. Even off peak took me 30 min ! seems like 20miles looking at Google maps. Any good areas nearer than that ?

I live in Chandlers Ford and its a quiet area, but we do have the odd bit of excitement :)

Remember the armed Bank robery in 2007 ?

    See those suggested above.

I'd also steer clear of new build in this part of the world. Your budget won't stretch to the premium they attract.

I wouldn't want to live in Fremantle/Shirley but I am quite possibly out of date basing this on my experiences from near 20 years ago.
