Monday 4th April - What small DFW things will you do today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

Morning all
Weather man got today right. Wet it is.
Back inside early from the shed as ds had to assist with a ewe that is aim bolt would have failed to catch!
Shower food then off to work.
Have fun all. I am planning operation quilt border or knit night tonight. I mean to think about it all day.

Morning
Thanks for the start La E
It's chilly in our house this morning as we turned the heating off for the season on the 1st of this month. But a bit of a chill is worth it for the financial saving.
Today will not be an NSD because we ate up our supplies before our weekend away. So I need to buy food. But of course will be going with a list. And using up any coupons I have that are relevant. And using brands that are the cheapest but best value.
Have a complicated few days to navigate this week. But i will have faith in myself and my ability to manage.
Love to all

Morning all,
Purplefairy reminded me how much this board helped me in the past and so I though to rejoin in a month that is going to be particularly hard money wise might be helpful.
I am back to work today after 10 days off and to be honest I am down right miserable about it
Right my small things today...
MIL to have the girls while I am at work Savin us childcare or club money
Dinner at mums
Breakfast at work to save milk (encouraged by my boss!)
Send 1 fleabay sale and book in a courier for the other two
Quick showers
Lunch made at home
Decide what to do for my dad for his 50th today. He doesn't deserve it to be anything grand and I will purposely see him tomorrow rather than today (my 30th birthday was a plain card with £20 in popped through my letter box when he knew I was out!)
Reconcile banking
Speak to hubby about this months money problems as he will have a lot of money left over and not consider I will be struggling
Check surveys
That's me.... I hope everyone has a great day

Morning all,
Maria - thinking of you and your ewes. Hope you have a good day today
Bob - Sending you strength to tackle your complicated days this week
La E - thanks for starting us off
Ziggy - Hugs, how old is your DS?
OrangeFairy - I'm sure you'll go knock their socks off today. Wishing you well.
I'm WFH today so should be a NSD
I was planning on blitzing some laundry but looking at the weather, I think it'll be just one load to go on the airer.
I was poorly all weekend so didn't get much done at all. Hoping to potter in my 'coffee breaks' whilst working today. Things like unloading/reloading dishwasher whilst the kettle boils etc.
Wishing you all a fab day todayNew total: £24,006

Morning all
Had a nice long weekend away, lovely part of the UK, went to a lovely weddingThe hotel was a bit fawlty towers, but the less said about that the better :rotfl:
Collected pup, who was pathetically pleased to see us
OH is off again today, to a funeral a distance away which will require another night away in a hotel. An elderly relative of his by marriage - I have sent my best wishes and apologies but he can represent out part of the family. I really need a day at home to get sorted out after arriving back late yesterday
All of this gadding about is expensive, so I need to get my moneysaving head back in gear if problems are to be avoided
List for today:
Dog walks (OH doing the first one) Done, though this afternoon's walk was short, as he wouldn't actually walk - still a bit stressed from having been abandoned I think
Check banks Done
Manage with the food we have in - I will need to shop, but it can wait till tomorrow at least! Failed, as I didn't have enough salad stuff and I was determined to eat healthily after an indulgent weekend  Went to Iceland, spent £10 worth of shopping vouchers (from RM surveys) and 10p. This included bargainous frozen sea bass, each pack reduced to £2.50 (special offer, not NS). This is a treat which we love, but rarely buy because it is usually much more expensive. Didn't really need it, but felt it was worth the vouchers!
Meal plan for tomorrow onwards Still to do
Heating on only in the bathroom and airing cupboard - though if it is cold / wet as promised later I will light the wood stoveHaven't lit the stove as, although it has poured with rain all day, it is not actually cold
Try to get to sales unit as it will need tidying up Done
Maybe look after GD for a few hours, as DD is shattered too after the weekend (she was chief bridesmaid) No, they went out I think
Walk everywhere as OH is taking my car - it is easier on fuel than his truck  Done
Pot tomato plants which will then take up half of the (big) dining table  Must find some new homes for most of them (I used old seed and didn't think so many would come up :rotfl:) Not done, due to rain (this needs to be done outside on the garden table)
Finish unpacking Done, all put away or into the wash
Water anything outside that needs it (if it rains that will just be the things in the plastic mini greenhouse thing) Well, it poured with rain, so I put the seedlings from the mini greenhouse out on the garden table and they got watered with no further effort from me :rotfl: Now safely replaced under cover.
Some cleaning (bathroom probably) Done
I have been reading over the last few days, though not posting as I find it a pain typing on my phoneSpecial hugs to Ziggy - hope things look up for you soon
As for everyone else, hope you all have a good day
Also done:
2 loads of washing as the weather is supposed to be good tomorrow - I will be able to get it on the line bright and early
Decluttered a shoe box into the recycling
Checked FPL, did a few onepoll surveys
Just checked my Quidco account and found £37 ready to withdraw0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
Thanks for the starter LaE. Hope everyone is doing ok. I'm a bit behind after not getting back on here yesterday so I have a bit of catching up to do. It's been a cruddy weekend in these parts and I've struggled a bit. Then went out last night, and am off out for most of the day today but I'll try and check in properly later this evening. I am feeling better today by the way - was just a bit low until yesterday evening.
So, plans for today:Go to my training session
check banking and PAD
no housework
not a nsd as need petrol
visit friend and her family
write a note to dh (he's had a terrible night but I need to let him sleep before work and we'll be out before he gets up).
keep a wombling eye out while I'm out and about
walk lots
catch up on here properly later
finish the mermaid tail blanket finally (thought that would have been done yesterday.
See you all later - have a good one!:DNot giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Good Morning all.. Still in bed with a coffee as late finish at work last night and heading back in a bit.
Have already done a couple of DFW things this am which wouldn't have done without coming on this site and getting ideas:
1) Signed up for online banking for my mortgage account as want to start overpaying
2) Already declared my 3rd DFW day today heading straight to work in a bit and no stopping off anywhere:)
3) Have given up on YNAB and have done my own spreadsheet - already allocated/budgeted my April salary which I get paid on 11th. I have never done a budget before but for the first time in ages I feel like I am in control of my money even though I am in debt:o
4) Just realised haven't bought anything online for ages which was a serious downfall of mine - I spend an awful lot of time at work and that was a treat to myself as my hours don't really lend themselves to shopping in shops lol.. Once viewed as a bad thing this is definitely a positive now :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a lovely day..Debt outstanding [STRIKE]£3491.[/STRIKE] £3303

Morning All
I thought I'd posted on here this morning but obviously not!
Not a lot of moneysaving planned here today I don't think due to being on holiday. However, still doing swagbucks and checking FPL, doblotto, luckyphone, etc.
Hopefully still manage to do 7000 steps - didn't manage it yesterday after driving for 3 hours and then getting here and it was pouring down so I never left the caravan!
That's about it I think.
Have a good day all

Hello All!
It's a really foggy day today. I'm working from home at the inlaws, which isn't really ideal - I don't concentrate as well out of the office, but it's only for one day.
Not much to report today. My DD came out for my Natwest card of £100. Now the PO card is completely paid off I will put another £300 towards the Natwest card today. This makes a total of £1196 towards debt repayments this month. I really want to pay off more than that. But I have to keep reminding myself that it is a huge chunk of money.
We have to take our car to try and get a puncture repaired on the rear tyre. I noticed the handling was a bit strange on it last night, then saw than the tyre was quite down. Took it to a garage to check the pressure and it had 0.9 bar! It is supposed to be 2.6 bar!Shouldn't be a big deal to get it repaired. Will try to do it at lunchtime and I'll take it out of my car repair budget. We have a long drive tonight, so I really want it repaired before we set off.
Hope you are all well!October 2015 = -13242.16 DFD 28/10/2016 £0 :T0
