    Good morning all, happy Monday!

Today will be a busy day for me.

Have had 2 replies from Gumtree, should hopefully be collecting some money from that tonight (if everything ok with the buyers)
    Will make dinner from fridge
    Full day at work
Apply for at least 2 jobs - if not I want to make sure that I at least get some research done on what I'd like to move onto/update my CV
Get everything ready for DD childminder tonight instead of rushing around tomorrow morning - like this morning!!
Start work on course I registered online for
Go for a short run to get me back into the swing of things
    LSD as well :)

    Catch up soon

    Afternoon Frugal Friends,
Dreadful night's sleep. Awoke just before 3am & didn't get back to sleep, then got up at 6 as had to drive mr f into town for bus station as he works too far from home to risk the Very Sick Car. I then decided I wasn't risking myself, having spent 3 hours lying in bed stressing. Convinced myself that car would most likely break down on hideous roundabout & I woudn't be able to move it myself. Probably irrational, but that's how my brain works at 3 in the morning if I can't sleep. Anyway mr f didn't like to see me so stressed & grabbed a portable brekkie & set off for the bus station on foot. As always, needed to get busy to divert my stressy brain:
*Laundry done overnight on cheap tariff. Drizzly today so will switch heated airer on overnight. Re-loaded washer for another cheap load tonight. Tues supposed to be better laundry weather.
*Washed hair & let it dry naturally.
    *Updated grocery budget.
    *Did quite a few surveys.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Checked veggie plantlets & stuff I planted out yesterday.
*Picked a bunch of daffodils, as some more had fallen over in the rain last night.
*Number-crunched finances ready for sorting out Very Sick Car. I am fearing the worst. Arranged a BACS transfer of a lump sum from our Emergency Fund into the Car Fund so that we can at least put up a good deposit if we need to replace our car quickly. Researched loans. Felt depressed about this, as I was so proud of becoming debt-free, but we always knew that we'd have to borrow to help with our next car. mr f does a lot of mileage for work, & my elderly parents live 80 miles away. We have to have something reliable, so buying something older & high mileage isn't a sensible option as we'd be back in this exact same position probably in just a couple of years. Oh well, at least I've got the figures worked out on paper now.
*Finish my knitting order. Frogged 10 rows this morning.....that's what happens when I knit with the wrong specs on!
*Checked ebay listings - 1 small item sold overnight.....about the umpteenth time I'd listed it, so it just goes to show that stuff does eventually shift!
Talking of stuff shifting, I drew our bedroom curtains first thing & thought we'd got a burglar. A van was pulled right up & a bloke was walking up our drive......then I remembered we'd left a pile of scrap metal out in the hope it would be collected. He took it all! Saves a trip to the tip, anyway, & if he can make a few quid from it, fair play to him.
OK, must go & find some lunch.
    F x
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

    Hi April Awesome-ees,

    Just a quickie.

Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Month Ten:

    * Went to work. Managed a whole shift today. Hurrah!

    * Reserved a roll of hut/shed roofing felt, ours is letting in the rain. OH will pick it up tomorrow as she drives by. Better fix it immediately before some electricals are ruined.

    * Did the SIM card shuffle for our broadband.

That's it! Exhausted. Early night for me.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All

    Thank you Ziggy & HelleBelle

Foxgloves really sorry you are so stressed about the car situation.

Dawn Glad you are home safe from your trip. Hope you can get back to your money saving ways now.

MinnieMousesMummy welcome back. Good luck slaying the last of your debt.

Small things I have done today
    1) Had an interesting meeting with someone I worked with before who had a proposition for me. Could lead to £££
    2) Ate a frog, not literally but it was the first in my tricky situations to deal with. So big tick to that.
    3) Used up a portion of soup for a snack
    4) Used up half a beef burger in my son's new pasta meal
    5) Checked my banking
    6) Updated my budgeting spreadsheet
    7) kept on top of the housework by doing the washing, packing dry clothing away & tidying up generally. I may start following flylady again as I do like it for the help to keep on the right track
    8) Sent energy readings to the utility company
    9) Checked the kids savings accounts online
    10) Decluttered a magazine

    Night all
