Hello,
I am targetting one of the two cars to buy. Both are from 2 different franchisee dealers.
  • 2010 Ford Focus 1.6 (100ps) Zetec Hatchback 5d 1596cc - £6000 + 1 year warranty + 25k miles
  • 2012 Vauxhall Astra 1.6i VVT 16v (115ps) Exclusiv Hatchback 5d 1598cc - £5600 + 6 months warranty + 28k miles

Which would be a better choice to buy? Thanks in advance,

BMW or Audi would be a better buy.

LOL - not unless the OP has deep pockets for repairs!

Seriously, I'd go for the ford.

Superior cars will require less repairs. Go for a premium brand rather than an eco box.

Why to limit to BMW or Audi? Why not Ferrari or Lamborghini? Aren't they more premium? Much better? Huh?

I believe everyone has to limit their purchase after looking at their budget.

I am seeking advice on choosing b/w the cars I mentioned. I'll appreciate if you can suggest something sensible.

Thanks, Would you elaborate what made you choose 2010 Ford over 2012 Astra?

There's nothing superior about BMW or Audi when it comes to reliability. I've owned both and can confirm the German's reputation for reliability is totally unfounded. My experience with BMW has been particularly poor and I wouldn't own one outside of warranty at any price.

Op - on my recommendation for the Ford over the Vauxhall I'd say the Ford drives better and probably has the best reputation for reliable motoring.

Both cars are widely used by various Police Forces.

They will both be reliable if properly maintained.

Buy the one that you feel more comfortable driving.

I would go for the Astra as its newer.

But only with the dealer-fitted rear brake option.
