Blocked metro online banking

Hello,
First of all sorry for my English. I'm foreinger.
I opened in UK personal account(metro bank) and borrowed some money(4,000 GBP) to start the business.
Money came to my account, all was good for a while. Then when I sorted out a Barclays business bank account and wanted to move there some money and withdraw more over the counter to pay bills, and needed more because trip back home(other country) they frozen my account. Guy behind the counter went to phone somewhere, after 15mins he came back and told me that I need proof where money came from. The guy who sent me the money was outside UK for long time and I could not get his statement. Anyways it`s already had been few months and it is still blocked. I came back to homecountry after that block, because I didnt have any money to live for. I have been calling bank since 2months, one lady from the bank told me that someone will call me after weekend, then another that they will send me an email, and now some lady called the department responsible for that block and said that "it's ok that I don't have proof they will review account and call med back". Of cours I'm wainting forever for that call. How long can it take? I'm planning to trip to London next week, to sort things out and go back to home.

..........Are you any nearer to getting the proof of where the money came from?
If not your complaint might not get very far.

Nope. Did complaint through online banking. No answer.
They should already check by themselves where money came from...

As posted, the CEO openly gives his details as a complaints contact address. Write everything down and send him a express signed for delivery letter via airmail not land mail.

That's the type of reply that will ensure the blocking of your account will continue.
  • .....and if the money comes/originates from a country on a financial sanctions list that blocking could last a very long time indeed.

But where did it originate from?
Did it come from abroad before it was transferred to you?

How do you know this - you are prepared to tell your bank that it is up to them to make the checks?

No it did not come from aboard before it was trasnferred to me.
I told them on the phone, that I can't provide the proof. Lady from the bank said "That's OK don't worry, we will review the account, and let you know"
I asked how long, she said "NO TIMESCALE". Through that time, they could have asked the bank which money came from, what they needed.

Give them the name and address of the person that transferred the funds and the name of the bank you think they used.
That could speed the process up..........but if the person who transferred the funds is under suspicion.......well you get the picture.
