Told to get into debt

Options
My water company has increased my bill by £25 a month. I told them we will struggle to cover this and they told us to get into debt first then they will help!

Are you on a meter, if so you can read it a bit more often and reduce the amount of water that you use and therefore reduce the cost.

If you aren't on a meter, then investigate getting one fitted. Do your sums to see if you'd be better off. Most water companies will allow you to have a meter for a year to see if it will be cheaper, if not you can revert to RV billing.

You could tell us which water company you are with, your RV (it's on your water bill) and how many people live in your house and someone will do a quick calculation for you

Alternatively you don't pay , get into debt and you could end up with a poor credit history.

Howcome the water supplier has increased your monthly payment by £25 per month? That's the equivilent of £300 a year.

By comparison, Severn Trent only charge about £300 a year for a typical semi on a non-metered supply.

(Do pop back when you have more time if you need further assistence - I see you could only spare 1 minute on your initial post, and however great this site is, it was most unlikely anyone could help you in that short period )
