It's half past midnight here and I've just woken up since bring asleep since about 4pm. It's so blooming hot that it's uncomfortable.

We had a big family lunch yesterday which was lovely. We all chatted about Alisdair and remembered his life. Then the three 'boys' drifted off to the garden for their own private chat and my SIL and I went off too to catch up. I didn't make it to the market after all.

Later today we'll get collected for the funeral. One of the boys is going to wear a kilt - I'm sure he'll be boiling hot very quickly.

I'm hoping to get back to sleep now so I'm ready for action, though it's great to read the thread. TA - I'm thrilled about your ring, how delightful for you, well done!

Thinking of Judi and gets at this difficult time for them both. Hugs to candlelight.
I've only just found time to post. I was most unwell last night, maybe something I ate or possibly stress related from all the carp happening at the moment!
It was warm and sunny here yesterday but cooler today.
    Hugs Hester

    Hi everyone,

Judi I was so sorry to read about your Mom,I'm sending sympathy and hugs as you go through the next difficult weeks.

Gers, glad you arrived safely and are finding solace remembering Alasdair with your family.Hope the funeral goes as well as it can.

HH sorry youve not been well,it mustbe very hard when things are so stressful atm.

I've had a lazy day,I was tired as DH & I had a rare night out on our own,a meal in a new restaurant that has just opened in a complex being renovated under our old Market Hall, all arched vaults,it was fab like being in another world.
Our neighbours were also out celebrating her birthday and came in a lot later than us.Their dog starts barking which sets ours off too,I ended up on the sofa, then builders turned up on the other side of us just after 7.30 and sounded like they were coming through .I know the flood damage has to be repaired but so early on a Sunday morning ? DH always tried to be considerate when he was doing our jobs.Got to admit I've been snoozing this afternoon, then cooked the turkey I got reduced for tea. Will strip the rest off shortly and prob have turkey and chips tomorrow, that will be an easy meal when the DGC are here.
I have finished recovering one of the dining chairs (think DH is secretly quite impressed :rotfl:)so I'll start another this week.

TA,fantastic to hear you've found your wedding ring after all this time :j
RRuby, well done Evie,Ly1a just whacks the back door with one of her massive paws when she needs to go out :D
When we were out with her this morning we met a lady with a bassett hound,we had one when we were first married and always had a fondness for them.We got chatting and it turned out he was blind in both eyes :( he was lovely though.
Right better go,love to all in need x

TA :j yay on finding your wedding ring. Might sound strange but whenever I lose something I always ask the house fairies if I could have it back, has worked on many occasions.

    Welcome to Hellebore.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Hester.

    Evening all.

Candlelight my thoughts are with you and your dear husband. I hope tomorrow goes well.

Welcome to our newest 'recruit' Hellebore. Pleased to meet you.

My head is still all over the place and the temptation to comfort eat is huge.

Can't believe I'm stuck in this tin can when I should have stayed at home and supported Youngest who raced straight from work to be with me after his Nan died. I was so desperate to stop hubby whining I totally didn't think of my Sons needs. It's not every day you see a dead body. He assures me he's fine and has been with friends all weekend but I feel bad.
