Experian @&£**##$$!!!!

Hi,
I did a debt relief order in 2014. It expired in 2015.
Until January of this year I have stayed well away from credit of all kinds and I'm doing ok now when it comes to spending. However this year my plans include getting some credit which I have properly budgeted for. So I began to look around for a credit card with a low amount on it so I could begin to rebuild a history - buy a tank of fuel a month and pay it off immediately kind of thing.
Before I did anything I checked both Equifax and Experian. Both were pretty out of date so I had to spend time with both sorting out addresses etc. The Equifax file got sorted and I appear to have a fairly good score which surprised me given the DRO. The equifax showed absolutely nothing at all so I applied for a credit card.
I was refused which was a little annoying however I spoke to the company and they said they used Equifax, so I logged in to discover a whole swathe of information that hadn't been there before, most importantly Barclays and Lloyds are saying I still owe them money on the accounts that were involved the DRO. This means my score with Equifax is Poor.
I have lodged disputes with Equifax on both of these and this morning I received an email telling me that Lloyds are refusing to show the debt as settled.
Apart from be annoyed with Equifax for not updating my information correctly (this information should have been showing all along) what recourse do I have? As far as I'm aware monies that are part of a debt relief order are considered settled once that DRO expires. I complied with the terms fully.

Very unclear whether your issue is with Equifax or Experian?
They would have had details of teh account before if they now display, but a credit file is not like a card file in a file cabinet.
It's something that is generated on the fly each time based on the information you supply when requesting, and the info they have that links it together with other data they have.
Accounts can appear not to show if they are unable to match them against the 'input data' that you supply when requesting, or sufficient links between the two sets are not yet made. Small mismatches in the way things are recorded can prevent the appropriate dots joining up, making things that perhaps could show not appear.
Giving extra or different data, such as that on a new credit application, more past address details etc can then make things that didn't show pop up as the data is linked.
Probably what has happened here.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

You will need to complain direct to Lloyds.
See: Credit Reference File Clean Up Post Bankruptcy
A DRO is exactly the same as bankruptcy in that regard, so the above link applies to a DRO just as much.
Tell Lloyds that if they do not update your credit file correctly, you will be taking the matter to the FOS and reporting their breach if the DPA to the ICOFree/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Perfect, thank you. I thought I was right in believing that the debt should show as settled.
I live with depression so this really hasn't helped with my equilibrium. Sleep will be elusive tonight.Live Positive.

Forget the scores provided by Equifax and Experian, they mean nothing, your case is an example of the scores having no meaning. Lenders see the history.0
