Elstimpo, how do you rate Crompton bulbs ?

Also, we are about to have the kitchen refurbished and want to replace the present single three direction spotlight unit with similar. The old unit is over 25 years old (how time flies), so you can imagine what hard to come by bulbs it takes.

Is a fitting taking LED bulbs the recommended solution, please?

I only ever make a comment on another company if i think they are excellent and i have experience of them.

Do you have a link to the three directional spotlight unit? If it's a fitting where you can remove the lamps then you can probably just fit LEDs straight into that existing fitting.

    Fair enough.

Let us know how those lamps go as I think there may be quite a few people interested!

I think the LED filaments are very good. Will be stocking them. Also now looking at flexible LED filaments meaning they can be shaped inside the glass to make them more appealing and decorative.

I haven't chosen a new one,yet but would like something like the existing 'brass' one ,which has a circular plate with three rotating bulb sockets. We have spare bulbs for this one until it replaced in the summer.

I had thought that fittings were bulb type specific (not just shape eg candleor golf ball and bayonet or screw).

There's a thanks option on the forum.

They should introduce a 'you need not have bothered' or a 'thanks for nothing' option for posts like the above ^^

If you meant mine, my point was that elstimpo's in business and made a helpful comment. It was a bit impolite to try to impose on him by demanding details and links.

Biggles - you missed out 'Cheers' from what you quoted. It seems less demanding with it included. Just looks like someone excited about a product to me.

Those flexible filament LEDs sound great elstimpo and I haven't see them anywhere before.
