My neighbour bought their maisonette for £60k less than I did two years ago. It's identical in every way. That's not fair, but that's the market for you. Prices change, it's not worth the stress...0

I personally am happy with what I pay - and although myself and other housemates are disgruntled at the unfairness of rental costs in the house, we have never made too much of an issue of it. I think it is because we are now fed up of the current situation where mountains are being made out of molehills and we have been told to have a meeting and discuss our 'issues' + the landlord wanting to know any reason if any - as to any unhappiness that this has come up. I think I'll take you guys advice and not bother mentioning it as something that is making housemates 'unhappy'.
Maybe the rent issue isn't exactly fair, but as you have very little recourse it's probably better to let it go and relax about it than wind yourself up. It really sounds like there are a lot of other issues going on, not least what sounds like a very interfering landlord!! What business is it of theirs whether there is 'harmony' in the house and what exactly are they going to do about it? They also shouldn't be turning up without notice and interrupting your peaceful enjoyment of your home.
I get that it's frustrating living with annoying housemates but unfortunately it's one of the downsides of the cheaper costs of house sharing. You can either try to resolve the issues (although if they have been going on for years this may be a non starter), persuade the annoying tenant to move out, move out yourself, or accept the downsides and remain happy with your decent rent.
Just be careful the landlord doesn't 'rectify' the situation by putting ALL of your rents up.Savings target: £25000/£25000

i was once on a flight back from NY and another person who had an economy seat was upgraded to upper yet they had paid for an economy seat like me so therefore they were getting a better seat for the same money as i paid, rip off etc etc who do i complain too?

The risk of all the rents being reviewed is real, however, if you take this grudge to him.0
