Solicitor anger!!

Does anyone have any tips on how to speed up solicitors?
Our solicitors are shockingly rubbish I am so angry with them. They are incompetent and slow and don't ever respond to my calls or emails.
We were supposed to be moving last Thursday which never happened due to an issue on the buyers side (now resolved).
Found out today that they didn't even let our purchases solicitors know it wasn't going ahead. I am calling numerous times a day to get a new date but getting absolutely nowhere! I want to exchange and move this weds as it's the only time we now have left all off work but at this current speed they are going at I'll be lucky if we exchange and complete in April!!!
Any help welcome
Thanks

They are probobly not answering your endless calls and emails because they are so busy responding to all the endless calls and emails from other buyers/sellers to tell them nothing has happened.
Either that or, being human like the rest of us, they are simply peed off by the endless alls and emails.......
Are you sure that everything has been done on your side? And your buyer's side? Are you buying too? Is everything ready on your seller's side? And their seller's side.....?
As for Exchanging/Completing on the same day, given the uncertainty, this seems unwise.0 -
Ask for the contact details for the complaints partner.
When it is all over, complain.
For now, keep a record.0 -
Perhaps the EA could phone around and get opinions on the date you've picked, so this info can be given to the solicitor to confirm rather than start from scratch. Solicitors don't make up the dates at random, they have to find out what date suits all parties0

If the issue was on the buyer's side, then why would your solicitor need to inform them? Presumably they knew.

They needed to let the solicitors of the house we are buying know. Not the solicitors of our buyers as obviosuly they knew.
They probably are too busy responding to the endless emails and calls from other people as looking at their reviews they don't have many happy customers. I wish I'd looked more into it before agreeing to use them but at the time it seemed like the less stressful option.
I am sure everything is done on all sides now. They confirmed they were only waiting on this one thing which is now completed so there is nothing else left to do on any side other than agree a date to exchange and complete.
They can get peed off with all the calls and emails all they like but I will continue to do it as I actually want to move some time this year. We've been offer accepted since 23rd December! It is now 1st April, starting to grate on me a lot the time it's taking now. And now I know everything is done I just want my date and to move. We have time off this week but not beyond that.0 -

Phoned both EA's today.
Our house we are purchasing is empty and the sellers want to exchange asap so I know they are fine with any date as long as it's soon, I am in touch with our buyers personally who have said weds 6th is fine for them so I have pretty much done this work for them. All they need to do is contact both solicitors and say, exchange and complete on 6th April? Yes? Ok, let's do that.
Monies are all ready, they requested our funds on 30th April so they have those. Our buyers have given the deposit already and our sellers of our purchase are the last in the chain and just want their money.0 -

This is going to be my next step.
I have sent our solicitor an email as it appears the calls I am making are not being logged and I'm going round in circles! And they are not returning my calls either. So I have emailed so I can keep a paper trail.
I have stated on the email I an unhappy with the service at the moment and it is jeopardising our house sale and purchase. So I am giving her a chance to redeem herself here. I can only hope she does!0 -

Can all the parties's solicitor's hold on to the funds until the 6th?
Our completion failed yesterday and my solicitor said they need to send the funds back to the lender on Tuesday if the completion doesn't happen by then.
Can you exchange on Monday so it is less likely to go wrong again on the completion day.0 -
Is your purchase dependant on the stamp duty changes today? As it maybe they are prioritising the clients who had to complete yesterday first over you. It might not be what you want to hear, but it wouldn't surprise me if that's what happened.
Hopefully if that is the case come Monday things will start moving again for you. I am waiting to exchange as well, so I do understand how frustrating this is, as I need to extend my holiday too as I was meant to move this week but it hasn't happened.MFW OP's 2017 #101 £829.32/£5000

Yes ideally exchange sooner than weds would be an even better option. So I will ask them about this, if I can ever get hold of them at all.
Just getting so frustrated by it all. Sorry to hear yours fell through too.0 -

No our purchase isn't dependant upon the stamp duty changes thank goodness.
That is almost certainly why it was held up last week. As the buyers bank hadn't signed off one document and sent it to their solicitors and this seemed to be due to them pioritiisng the stamp duty cases which is underatandable.
Now that date has passed I was hoping things would speed up more. But our solicitors seem as slow as ever. Hoping after they get my email on Monday they will get things moving, even if it's just to get rid of me!0
