This is the recipe for the cake
https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/5396/almond-raisin-cake-with-sherry
I only used half the raisins and just a glug of sherry as I didn't serve any on the side.
I also made

To use up OOD yogurt. Very goodmade it in a loaf as it's better for packed lunches :A
Really good day, also dig out big bush root and tree root from front garden and a general tidy round. Front and back lawn mowed, dead headed some plants and dug up my tomato plants that have finished. Looks much smarter and well on the way to being tidy for Christmas, we just have some stuff to get rid of to the tip that will make the place look tidier. Some of its really long which means taking the seats out the back of the van to get it in, so will take a bit of planning.
That a side, garden in good shape.
Didn't move the drawers but we had a class teddy nightmare! We've got him for the weekend and just before bedtime realised he was awol  much searching and a stressed me later, still no joy. How many places can he be in our house, not like we live in a palace
Anyway gave up for a bit then small remembered playing in the hall. Found him inside my rolled yoga mat, why I didn't think to look there first I don't know :rotfl:
Anyway, paper isn't going anywhere and some quality time with family for a BBQ was more important. Used some ys bargains too :T
Going to do some knitting now to bring by blood pressure back under control0 -
Is it only Monday :rotfl: weekends so short and weeks so long
Can't wait for a time when I can spend all my days baking and pottering in the garden - although don't want to wish my life away, so I'll be content for my lot and happy I managed to squeeze in a cake make before work todayWill freeze this one though - a) to see how it freezes and b) as much as we love cake, there is only so much even I can eat
£co credit showing in the bank for tomorrow as is my sale money :T I also made £60 from an order from my little business which I'll get paid for tomorrow. Will get split 50/50 LPDF and house fund I think.
I really must e-mail the builder the plans so he can quote, I'm not sure why I have been procrastinating on this so much.
E-mailed supplier in Germany who we had the smalls bed from as a part has broken, they need a number from the instructions, so will ask DH if he knows if we kept them, if not, plan B, which is glue it and turn it around0 -
Another week has passed up by and it's been successful despite the business of it all. I've emailed the builder the plans, he's away for 2 weeks so it'll be a while before I get anything back. I listed an item of furniture on fleabay last night and got 2 messages within 10 minutes asking for a bin price. Added one and it was collected today :T meant we had to change our plans today so we could empty it and move some stuff around but put loads up in the loft another bag fo stuff for fleabay (listed 25 last night) will try and list tonight. But cash was worth it. Already in savings.
Made some food today, cake, quiche, crumble soup for lunches. Also stewed another load of gifted apples and pears. Will freeze these.
Plasterer booked for two weeks for one bedroom and one hall ceiling so just a small bit of work to do to prep for that. Will message wood man to book him in a couple of weeks later. Would like it all done before the start of December. Already have curtains, blinds and lampshade so only need 2 x chest of drawers and 2 bedside tables. Shouldn't be too expensive.0 -

It's the one with the crunchier bits on top :rotfl:0 -
anyone else got a family member they wouldn't choose as an acquaintance. Mine is really getting on my nerves recently. Something tonight that's just unacceptable. Really contemplating having it out with them. But don't want to upset others, so the whole situation just makes me anxious. Not what I need.
Anyway, in things I am able to have an input on, several watchers on fleabay sales and 4 items with bids :T a few more would be nice, but there are plenty of days left in the week.
Leftovers for tea, so meal planner survives another day
I'm hoping to finish my knitting project tonight so I can start my next as soon as the wool arrives. That'll keep me out of mischief0 -
My mother has a way of making me feel like she is Hyacinth Bucket and I am her scruffy sister that they all look down on. :rotfl: I love her to bits but I think I'm a disappointment to her because I make do and mend rather than spending money all of the time. Not giving up

Totally agree CCL (not that you’re the scruffy sister):rotfl: mine seems to think that as I don’t spend all my time shopping in high end stores I’m just not ‘right’! That and the fact I don’t want to do things like go abroad for a week without my childrenshe really couldn’t get that one. Their latest instalment is one of their finer moments though
I’m just choosing not to have any unnecessary contact to save my sanity
In other news, several things sold on fleabay, reslisted the rest. House tidy, including some sorting in the spare room meaning I can get the airer in there :T although there has been lots of opportunities to peg out this week that have made me happy.
Tried the homemade mango chutney today. Was lovely, much better than I thought. I’d definitely make again, particularly if I can get cheap frozen mango or ys mango. Made lots of other baking things too, freezer is packed, so it’s back to freezer jenga :rotfl: lots of lovely meals to be had though and some new ones as deliberately ordered a box that had a couple of items in I wouldn’t normally buy.
Managed a quality night out wth DH this wee too which was nice and also prepaid so can’t complain. One week until payday, should be able to get to the line ok.
Happy days.0 -
Another busy week, seems never ended and so glad we got to the weekend in tack. Confession time, we had a takeaway last night. However, first one in ages, in fact, I think it’s the first one this year so it’s not like we’re at it all the time. It was amazing too
All pots topped up after payday, happy days. EF at 77% of target and everything else looking fine. Had a repayment of a savings account from work, half to savings and half to debt repayment, so savings outside of EF also looking healthy.
In house news, we’ve finished stripping the last bit of walk behind the tv in the bedroom and taken off all the skirting so it’s ready for the plasterer on Monday. Just our bed to move out tomorrow, I think we’re going to squeeze it into the lounge for a days.
We’re off out tomorrow using our annual passes. Will take a picnic, just parking to pay which is fine, still a cheap day. Will get something out for tea before we go.
Whole week off work, looking forward to some quality time with family0
