Poor thing was very frightened and very aggressive because of this
They want a kitten like pickles that wants loves and comes when called they don't understand that happens with work and a kitty that's a love bunny to start with.

I had a cat from a kitten, stayed with mother until ready to leave. So no early years trauma. Gave him lots of love. He was a grumpy cat who didn't like to be fussed all his life. He was happiest when left alone, so gave up trying to make him affectionate after a few years. I think he never forgave us for taking him to the vets and having him done. Before his first trip to the vets he would happily get into the car and sit on my knee looking out of the window (I was a teenager), afterwards he would put up a fight and once bit his way out of a cardboard cat carrier.

Sometimes cats just aren't affectionate love bunnies no matter how you treat them. They have their own characters and if you give a cat a home you need to be prepared to accept whatever that character is.

My cat didn't attack us or anything. He just liked his own space, preferred being stroked with feet rather than hands, and would come to be around you when he wanted. He also used to play chicken with cars on the (thankfully) quiet road, but I think that was linked to his headbutting a car when he was younger and he was now trying to prove he wasn't scared

Strange every cat I have ever lived with and there have been many have been affectionate
Ti is semi feral and he is still pretty affectionate with me

The neighbours don't understand work needs to be put in with animals and plants. Every year she buys lots of plants and within 2 weeks they are dead.

These kittens are her 2nd attempt, she got a kitten when she first moved in, that one kept falling out of the window and was skittish too.

If you pick a couple.of.kittens up when they are very small about 8 weeks, then !!!!!! off and leave them alone for all but 10 min's a day they are not going to be very friendly

I think the first trip to the vets traumatised him as he was a bit affectionate before that. He would be affectionate when he was ill and needed taking care of. He didn't lke being fussed. On the rare occasions he sat on your knee you would sit still without touching him, because if you stroked him he'd be off

I also wonder if strays can be more affectionate sometimes because they know what life is like without you, and they want to keep on your good side. I've known a few friends ex strays that have been so friendly. I've also known a few cats that were with their owners from kittens, that have been standoffish with people.

    I agree
Def seeing more love from former strays.
Tomcat is not going out tonight
This means pickle is in too but I need to do what I should have done today.

Getting kittens cos they are cute is the wrong reason. Had OH not got them up they wouldn't have known one was gone.

I think tiggers' personalities are more individual than those of humans. Some are friendly, some are not. Many are friendly when it suits and not when it doesn't. They all deserve humans who know they are only there to serve and who allow tiggers to be who they are. Is that not how you treat a friend?

How can anyone be so incredibly stupid they cannot see that a kitten could fall through a window if they leave it open more than an inch or two? God forbid they ever have any kids!
