Thanks all, great feedback and suggestions. I spent some time looking at the Hankook Eco K425s today and noticed the variation in the EU ratings:
82T (same as I have now) - E fuel economy and B for wet grip
    82H & 86T - C for fuel economy and wet grip

My local tyre place said the 82T was better, 86 would be intended for bigger/heavier vehicles. 82H is a bit more although the same price possibly at Kwikfit (about £42).

Which seemed to think that tyre was top for fuel economy which I think is my biggest interest although the Continentals also have C for economy and A for wet grip for one of them.

Still having a think but it looks like mostly Fire/Bridgestone and BF Goodrich don't seem that widely favoured. I'll check out the other branks mentioned as well, the Nexen etc.

I've found the following prices for some of the many tyre places in my area so much for consideration:
Brand Tyre Fuel Wet grip Price
    Continental Premium Contact 5 C A £43.90
    Hankook K425 86T C C £43.50
    Hankook K425 82T E B £40.50
    Michelin Energy Saver+ C B £41.90

    some very good prices there

I like continental and run continental sport contact 5 as my summer tyres but that is my personal choice, the Hankook K425 82T comes in at a very good price and would be OK for your needs

don't get to hung up on the fuel economy rating because the difference between an E and a C is one step as they don't use D in this rating scale and will equate a fraction of a mile per gallon on an average car

the the rating is strange because a tyre that does very well in the grip rating can often do less well in the economy due to increased rolling resistance and vice a versa

Like force ten, I too run CSC5s and have several other Conti types on my other vehicles- and trailers.

Continental is my tyre of choice.

I've found the Conti Premium Contact to be a good reliable tyre and the one I would choose from your last post.

But if you're not driving hard any of the four would be adequate.

Don't be too hung up on the ratings - they are just a general guide.
