Terms and conditions

You would think that a lot of daft terms and conditions would put buyers off- but looking at the terms this seller places on her auctions and her feedback it appears not:

I'm not sure I'd risk buying from someone who feels the need to put all that in a listing

He/she started a thread on the Business Sellers forum about the neg they received. Quite a few poster there have said the same as you, Soolin and the seller became quite defensive.

I would imagine for a lot of buyers they realise those t&cs are a loaf of rubbish and if it comes down to it are unenforceable.
For me if they had something i had to have and just couldnt get elsewhere i would bid bit only in those circunstances.

    People rarely do.

The community boards though are deadly , I do read them but haven't dared to post even with a posting ID. If anyone is ever tempted though to post, never ever use a current ID, set up a new one just for the boards.

I have the urge to buy something just to neg them...

Not seen any silly terms like that for a while.

I know exactly how you feel. I've never done it, but I have been sorely tempted.

My general rule of thumb with eBay listings is that if the amount of text which is not specifically about the item for sale is greater than the amount of text which is specifically about the item for sale, then I'll move on.

It's not just pointless T's & C's, but also sellers who cut and paste a huge amount of detail about an item into their listing, but don't tell you anything at all about the condition of their particular (second-hand) item.
