No, you get a form to fill in with where you want to work. Just worried I'll do a 130 mile round trip for a first interview, then maybe a second, and after all that expense find there was only one job in my local office and I didn't get it. :D There's only one in this region I can do, though I also applied to another where I can reach two.

You only have one interview... Not the three thats in the website... Very confusing and misleading!! But 130 mike round trip for an interview is a lot... Fingers crossed they have vacancies at your preferred location :D

Maybe they meant the 3 elements of the interview, Literacy, Numeracy and the face-to-face parts. When I was interviewed they didn't do part 3 because they had nobody available to do them! Typical DWP organisation.

anyone had their interview as yet? what questions are asked?
The same questions won't be asked of everybody. Many of the questions will be competency based along with general stuff about previous employment, why you are interested in the job etc.

As Tellit01 stated, the questions will probably vary at each site but they are usually based on the 4 competencies from your application.

It would be an idea to think of a couple more examples for each of the competencies (different from your application ones) so if your application competency example doesn't fit with the question asked, you will have some other examples to draw on and answer the question.

I'm a work coach and I love my job! I recently got through the board in November though I was doing the job as a temporary promotion for about 2 or 3 years but with proper training and management support it can be very rewarding. I work with all benefits now, Universal Credit, IS and ESA as well as JSA. The office I work in is quite small but covers a large area, so I feel I'm lucky in that respect, not sure if I'd feel the same in a large inner city situation. One of my claimants recently interviewed for the same post in the current recruitment and I arranged a mock interview beforehand, so both of us are hoping he is successful!
When people ask me "What do you do?"
I tell them "Whatever it takes."

Strawberry Moon; I did that when I applied last time in 2014; but I didn't get through because none of my examples 'fitted' one of the questions. After I applied this time around my line manager gave me a mock interview and his advice was, just take your 4 original examples and use them. As it happened, the last question didn't fit, and I told them so but gave them my example anyway, and I got through with good scores. In the end, the interviewers WANT you to be successful, and should try to prompt you further to get the best out of you. Good Luck.

Had my interview today... Was definitely nerve racking!!!

One of the competencies threw me off and after that i became deflated already thinking in my mind that i had blown it... The competency that threw me off I didn't even use the star technique in my answer

I've applied for a different area of the civil service, but maybe someone knows the answer to this - I attended interview in March and haven't had any news until yesterday when they requested I send in the documents for ID check that should have been taken from me at Interview. Is this a good sign or are they just ensuring their own compliance on everyone whether they've passed interview or not?!

It's procedure for them to have all necessary documents to see if you are legally allowed to work in the country...
They took all my documents before my interview... I don't have my birth certificate though butvthey said if they need it they'll contact me asap!

If you've received the results from your interview you might be able to gather whether you've passed or not!

My interview is rapidly approaching and I wasted two hours of prep time finding that damn birth certificate! Why they need that and a passport... I need to work out some examples, I narrowly missed another job recently as I just couldn't find an example even after padding for a minute or two!
