This is such a slow month for me. Why do unexciting products seem to last so long?!
53) UU Dove Purely Pampering body lotion - WBA0 -
Unfortunately my mum passed away unexpectedly and very suddenly last month. There was only the two of us. I now have the sad and very difficult task of going though her possessions only to find my mum was a bigger toiletries hoarder than I ever was. Drawer upon drawer of unopened soaps, shower gels and creams. I plan to donate what I can to charities she supported, pass along some items to extended family members and to use up what I can. In some ways it feels like starting the challenge all over again.
Sorry for your loss. I found homeless shelters are very grateful for shower gels as some of the people coming in are desperately in need of a good wash.
It was finding that situation in my mum's house that prompted my toiletry decluttering. What made me sad was that her bathroom was full of cheap stuff and her wardrobe was full of unopened expensive stuff she was saving for 'best'.0 -

Elizabeth_Braun wrote: »Very sensible, VALM! I'm in a stock up phase at the mo, although nothing to hoard so much as to get a decently priced supply for use over the next year or more. I suppose only the Orangeasm fragrances that I've been stashing from e-bay would count as INs. I'm doing really well with perfumery though. Last year, I started out with 26 items from tiny samples, through miniatures and odds and ends in the bottom of bottles and several almost full decent sized products. Mum gave me one last year and I'm currently down to 10 (not counting all the Orangeasms - 4 body sprays and one tonic spray so far, but it IS being discontinued, so.....). I'm working on 3 at the mo, so things are certainly better in the perfumery arena. Mum has threatened to give me more soon, so there could well be about 8 NPIs, at least 2 of which I would sell at once.
That's the thing though isn't it, that it's fine to stock up on items as long as the intention is there to use them. I've done well with perfumery this year too. It's actually not something that I usually buy for myself either so looking forward to my upcoming treat.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. One more UU for me from my PP list:-
Liz Earle Orange Flower body cream. Now I don't know if I kept this in my stash for too long but right from the outset is smelt pretty awful. It reminded me of tomato vine smell which is gorgeous in context but spread all over my body not so nice. I used to swear by this product as it used to be the only body lotion that kept me moisturised all day. Not any more and I'd even go so far that if I was to get this in a kit I would give it away. WDNBA.
So my PP list looks like this:-
[STRIKE]Clynol leave in conditioner - just like the Duracell bunny![/STRIKE]
Vichy eye cream
Elemis Lime Blossom Balancing Cleanser
Elemis PCMC
Liz Earle Skin Relief Light - pump bottle feels very light.
Liz Earle Exfoliator
[STRIKE]TBS Tea Tree creamy cleanser - getting close to cutting the tube open
L'Occitane Shea soap. Used up one and replaced with another.
LIZ Earle Orange Blossom body lotion - tube feeling squishy but pretty sure there is loads left.
[/STRIKE]Hand cream and hand sanitisers. One done this month. Still keep forgetting to use the hand sanitiser. OPI Avojuice on my desk still going strong.
I am so hopeful that I can finish that LE Skin Relief Light before the end of the month.
Also my present hand cream tube is very squishy. Will probably cut it open tonight. As for the replacement L'occitane Bon Mere soap and hand sanitisers these are still going strong. I am using the soap every day and think that I'll buy a bar of the Shea variety when instore at weekend as I have a huge bottle of their body lotion to open and nothing to accompany it.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Made a good dent in the tub of moisturiser I'm currently trying to use up after my shower this morning.
Used the ice scraper to apply before rubbing in to save my nails :rotfl:
Once this one is finished I can finally start to use the moisturiser that's supposed to go hand in hand with the 2 shower gels I'm using and alternating between right now. Luckily that moisturiser is in a bottle and you squirt it out so I'm pretty sure my nails will be fine using that one0 -
I have a couple of uu's
Clarins Eau Ressourcante Silky Soft Body Cream 50ml - gorgeous. I would happily use again but wouldn't pay for it.
Clarins Eau Ressourcante Bath & Shower Milk 50ml - as above.
Aromatherapy Associates Relax Light Bath & Shower Oil 7.5ml - WNBADebt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I UU for me. I've had flu symptoms for over a week so focused more on feeling better than using up stuff. A couple of INs were Deep Heat Bath and Olbas Bath to help me relax.
UU
St Ives Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes (35 Wipes) - WMBA - I got on pretty well with these and they made my skin feel tingly. I got them from Poundland so they were good value too. I've replaced them with a pack of Primark face wipes. No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2019 Total UU since 2016 - 396 | Total February UU - 10 -

Fiasco, I'd like to add my voice to the condolences here. My mum won't be around much longer either...

Thanks Hermia, I'm looking for some local places to donate. I've had a look online and some charities are very specific about what they are looking for or will accept. Right down to saying they are not accepting anything at the moment. It's early days and I think it will take a good six months to clear the house (mum hoarded everything).
Another UU today a Dove mini deodorant. WBA, did the job and a handy size.No buying toiletries Graduated May 2017Decluttered 2016 2469 items, 2017 1580 items :j2018 3060 itemsSealed Pot Challenge No 0380
