VALM - We just went to Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales so not a million miles from home but nice all the same.

    I have a uu

Le Soft Solid Perfume - Nemamiah - WNBA, this is a stick perfume and is really lovely but you don't get much in the stick, at full price it is expensive (£20 ish), you don't get loads of scent but you do get a nice waft of it every now and then, I paid £5 ish so not too bad, I have another this scent in the stash plus some other scents too. My only reason for not buying again is the price.

One UU before I go to work:

Montagne jeunesse green tea peel off mask- WMBA didn't love the smell but it wasn't horrible either and no nasty chemical stink. Didn't make my eyes sting and peeling some off it off was satisfying. Don't think it did anything much though, and bits of it didn't dry so o had to remove the rest with a baby wipe which was disappointing. Nice and cooling after my workout on the exercise bike though so may re purchase this one in the summer.

I'm going to join in on this if I may :)

New to this forum but been lurking a while just to pick up tips here and there but now my situation is getting serious so joined up so I can post for help! :)

I have literally a brand new unopened stash of makeup, hair care and skin care products but got quite a few half used items to get through first, these being things like moisturisers, talcum powder, and a tube of carmex mint lip balm that I actually don't like on my lips as it's a bit too tingly so could I use this for my cuticles on both my hands and feet perhaps??

I also have a what could possibly be 5 years old no.7 toner, a nivea primer, a biotique cream and a simple cream cleanser, also an avon mascara and eyeliner and a rimmel BB cream. I'm thinking I could use these to 'start off' as I've never worn makeup to the extent some women do before or ever had any kind of solid skincare routine so it'll help me get into the swing of it and won't be too drastic a change when I have to meet people at work.

Also what is the rules on sealed stuff? will it still be ok until I open it, at which point it'll have to be used up in the time it says in the little open pot picture on the back?

    Welcome :)

You make your own rules here, but sounds like you've got a good start with ideas like using up open items, repurposing other bits and being aware of how long you've had things.

Sealed items should be fine and once you open them try to use them up within the time, although in my experience this rarely matters!

    Good luck!

Just sniff them and look at the appearance when you open them. Things usually keep way past the expiry date, but it is always worth examining them if they are old. I recently found two moisturisers and a pack of face wipes (all sealed) at the back of the cupboard and they all smelled awful.

I managed to use up a few more things today that were on the way out:

    UU
Boots Botanics Deeply Moisturising Body Lotion 250ml - I got this for 75p in the clearance section and it lasted me at least a couple of weeks of daily use so it was good value for money. I would say this is an excellent winter moisturiser - not too thick and not too thin, it also absorbs into the skin quickly and does what it says it does. I also like the subtle scent. WDBA (but not sure if discontinued?)
Nivea Visage Control It Moisturiser 1.5ml sample - I had this on today instead of my usual morning moisturiser in order to use it up. I found it was a good product but I didn't like the masculine scent (however the scent doesn't linger). This is an old sample I got at a Race for Life event so I'm not sure if the product is still being made.

Me too. I always use products past the sell by date unless they look really awful. I just hate the idea of waste so I don't like throwing things out unless I really have to.

  • Thank you for all your help! :)

Going to start properly on Sunday by making a dent in 1 of my many shower gels and one of my many shampoos(not using conditioner ATM) by having a good shower before work and make a dent in my 1 of many moisturisers and 1 of my many bubble baths by having a long soak in the tub and applying moisturizer everywhere when I get out when I get back from work :)

Some good use ups for the start of April.
    1. Amargan everyday moisturising shampoo 500ml
    2. Amargan everyday moisturising conditioner 500ml

I liked both of these, they left my hair really soft. However, they were big bottles and I got really bored of them in the end!
    3. No7 blissful body wash 50ml. I was given this by my mum. As I've said before, I love the scent but wouldn't pay full price for a bottle.
    4. Clinique 7 day scrub cream 75ml. I really don't like this so repurposed it as a body scrub. It's too creamy for my taste but I think I've got another one in my stash as they often come in GWPs.

Funny you should say that Hermia, I'm currently using the Cocoa Cacao Lip Butter and I LOVE the scent but I feel like my lips are still in pretty bad condition. Weird.
Ditto Hermia and Lou85! I had the plain one and a macadamia nut which smelt so lovely but TA both because they did nothing good to my lips!

Me three. For body butters/lotions that are old or don't smell that nice I use them up on my feet instead. Saves me buying lotions specifically for feet at the moment. I'll even use face creams on my feet if they smell a little off. I don't like to waste things.
