Oadby ASDA do 10%, will only take three identical coupons at a time, and the till needs overriding by a supervisor after 8 coupons (no matter how small in value). Whether they take internet coupons depends upon the cashier serving you.

    violetta :)

    I can confirm this bit 100% !

No matter how big the bill is (£2 or £200) and no matter what the individual value (that I know of anyway) or total value of any coupons are (£1 or £50), the till WILL NOT require a supervisor override if you use 8 coupons or less.

Use a NINTH coupon and a supervisor will have to be called to use a key and press a few buttons.
As such I currently never use more than 8 to avoid any supervisor issues.

Obviously never hand in 8 coupons with a higher value than what you have purchased such that the final total is negative - I'm sure that will definitely attract attention !

I wish my Asda would get a policy on coupons,I had eight vouchers which were asda vouchers I received from cashback from my asda credit card, they totalled £24 and had printed on the back of them that they could be used more than one at a time and as payment. After all in effect these vouchers were no different to a cash payment realy. Not so simple with Asda,my assistant on Sunday refused to take more than 10% of a £44 bill.I stood my ground even though there was a huge queue of people behind me who kept giving me looks to kill. After I refused to pay any other way she did read the back of the vouchers and said that although she was breaking the rules she would take them and put them through as manufacturers coupons.I did ask how she was breaking the rules and stated these are not coupons but cashback vouchers, she just said same thing realy.I left feeling thoroughly embarrassed and very stressed out.Everyone looking at me like I was asking for something for nothing. What gets me on this occasion is that these were from Asda credit card,so they must have had others.

How amazing would that be if Asda took the same as Tesco via money off coupons.

My local Tesco doesn't accept any vouchers unless you've bought the item  although my local Asda now seems to accept them :D

Yes i got these coupons from asda credit card and used them all together no probs. Next time maybe go to customer services before you shop to check then you can tell the sales assistant. She should have called over a supervisor really.

Don't let it put you off sometimes things work and others they don't, pot luck really.
  • The only Asda near me (well 22 miles away) used to take 10% which was fine but now they won't even take one voucher unless you buy the product. This was last week.
    If I had known then what I know now . . .

has anyone had any coupons refused in asda which were over £1,i was refused two in local store today as if you use coupon over £1 value you have to have purchased item,i think a different story off every shop assistant
  • I asked the young girl supervising the Self Scan till in Asda what the store policy on coupons were.. her answer was 10%
I asked in my local Tesco, which is about 2 miles away from Asda, the answer in that particular store was as many coupons as you like... So, if I have £90 of shopping and £80 of coupons, is that ok? She said yes, I said see you next week!!! Just need another £75 of coupons !!!!
