And there is no longer a 10% of shopping value they will take as many as you have i just got £7 off a £34 shop so i was pleased.
She also told me that not all the tills have been changed over yet so they had to call some one over to accept it but it was all in B/W as she showed me the store leaflet that has all there voucher info on.
Any more news anyone on this yet? :j :j It'd be refreshing to pick over the clothes at Asda instead of Tesco for once. They used to do some good items - well when it was George at Asda (is that still the case? shows how long it's been since I've graced the threshold).0 -
i went in yesterday and they wouldn't take any if i hadn't bought the product0

Been following the thread this week and it looks like my original reply was correct. I managed to get a 30p nestles cereal voucher through yesterday but it was a definite goodwill decision as he didn't want to take it. Tell me Angelraesunshine was there a distinct smell of booze when you visited the checkout or perhaps the checkout assistant had a tear in their eye as they had just been given their P45. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Just to confirm that Angel' is not mistaken, delusional or dreamt the episode, and that the checkout operator was not drunk or in the last minutes of employment, I too have experienced exactly the same situation.
On the first occasion I was asked if I wanted to use more coupons than the 10% I had handed over. I didn't go mad and the operator did hand me one back saying "that the old system was still programmed into the tills and whilst it wasn't a problem, a supervisor would need to do an override which might take a few minutes if he were to scan the last 20p one". I was in a bit of a rush so agreed.
I returned to the same operator the following day and handed over a very significant number of coupons with a high value (perhaps £20 ish) off a £28 shop. Even took some with a value of £1 or more - which has always been denied UNLESS you bought the item.
A supervisor came and did the override without hesitation.
The following day I had use to a different operator and after saying "Hello" I opened the conversation with "I like this new coupon policy that you've got"
"Yes" she said "it is good isn't it ?"
This time again a lot of coupons, approximately 75% of a £20 bill.
A few days later a 4th visit and a 3rd checkout operator - coupons galore - same result.
Supervisor override on each.
THEN IT WENT PEAR SHAPED !!! 3 or 4 further visits.
Went to a till and couldn't get a single coupon accepted - she just kept saying that the vouchers stated you had to buy the product. I said what about the new policy or even the old 10% one?
Blank stares all round - a supervisor came and knew nothing of new policy, initially said no product no coupon - not even 10% - then changed her mind providing I swapped the coupons from some that had been given away in the store (Not ASDA specific or an ASDA product and hence ASDA discount) a few days earlier for 50p off cheese (since these were MUST buy item) to some others, which were also 50p off ones (T&Cs of redemption exactly the same but a different manufacturer) so I got my 10% and left.
I tried again the following day and a day or two later or so, with similar results.
For some reason the cheese coupon was still an issue - although it is no different to 99% of others (but I did use 3 on one shop without question) and 10% was still the max.
I've yet to go back to the same operators that gave the "new policy" on coupons since they are part-timers and only work certain evenings and/or weekends. I know one of them is no longer there - left last Sunday for a new job - events totally unconnected. That leaves two, a guy I know well and is easy to spot, the other a girl I'm not sure if I will recognise again.
There is actually a 3rd, a girl that didn't know "anything about any coupon policy at all" (10% or otherwise / or old or new) and just kept taking them until I stopped. I know her name so she is on my "list".
To add just a little more to this, my brother had a similar conversation about "no limit" in the same store on Wednesday - obviously don't know which operator.
And the "supervisor override" limit (supposedly "old" policy programmed in the tills) appears to be number of coupons rather than value. In the past I've had an override for 12 x 20p on a £25 bill, but very recently a £3.50 discount on £5.50 went through without a hitch.
I not 100% certain but think it is 10 coupons - just 9 and you are ok. (I think)
Any further details anyone else can add on this - please do so.
I do prefer it when the supervisor DOESN'T get called !!!
IF I do get any further success of "no limit" I'll post again.

Went to my local Asda today (Oldbury, West Mids). Used about £6 worth of coupons on a £70 shop - items not purchased. However, I tried to use one 40p one and they wouldn't accept it because they didn't sell it - assistant even went to check if they did sell it. Also, couldn't use any internet printed ones - said they don't take them. Also told my mom the same last week. I said that I had always used them in the past and the sa said that I shouldn't have done. Also, still only 3 of the same coupon accepted. Not so good, eh?0
