Santander Gold Current accounts

During a recent phone call to Santander I was invited to 'upgrade' my debit cards on my two 123 accounts to 'Gold' cards
Having done this I now notice that the product name for one of my accounts is just Gold Account but the other is called Gold A/C Switcher....
I MAY have 'switched' into this account years ago when I opened it, but the product name when they were 'simple' 123 accounts never included the word 'Switcher' for either .
Anyone know what it refers to?

I've got a gold card but my account still just says 123 Current Account.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

As far as I know the only way to get their gold debit card is to be a "Select" customer (which in practise means very little). As far as I remember, the name of my account didn't change when I did this, but I see "Select" in a grey block on some of their letters/statements etc and in online banking.0

Yes I'm a select customer ..... and yes.... it doesnt mean a lot ....except I think the select phone line may get answered a bit quicker....
account names have definitely changed as described....
Actually its not the account name but the 'product name' thats listed when you go into transactions0 -
Oh I see. Yes mine says 123 Gold Current Account Switcher. Never taken any notice of it before, I'll think I'll continue like that.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

To qualify for Santander Select you must have a current account with Santander and meet one of the following criteria:- Pay your main income of at least £5,000 per month into a Santander current account (excluding transfers from other Santander accounts), or
- Maintain £75,000 in any Santander investments, savings or current account; or
- Have a property worth at least £500,000 with a Santander mortgage.
That's on http://www.santander.co.uk/uk/select/help-support0 -
Interesting - maybe I'll keep quiet.
I probably come close but according to those criteria I dont qualify for 'select' either.......0 -
I wouldn't worry. I have never met those criteria and I have been Select for a few years now.0
