Free/cheap GPRS?

Hi I've got a Nokia N-Gage and so would love free/cheap GPRS access, one of my friends has an o2 online chip and connects free via the MMS server somehow, but he has to topup £10 a month to keep it free, and I'm not sure whether his connection really is unlimited (he uses it for web browsing not playing multiplayer across N-Gage Arena!) I've got an Orange OVP contract but I'm pretty sure that won't help, I've also got an o2 online chip or 10, orange PAYG unused and t-mobile unused (i seem to collect free sims hehe).
Using these or any other connections is it possible to get free GPRS, I don't even mind if I have to sign up to another (complete cashback mind you) contract!

Hi thought I'd reply to my own thread since I appear to have found an answer (for anyone else wanting free unlimited GPRS), the o2 online chips can supposedly be used to connect to GPRS for free although AFAIK its via their proxy and sometimes doesn't work (and supposedly stuff like N-Gage Arena won't work through it) but I'll post an update later today maybe (I'll probably get an o2 online chip today) as to whether it actually works for me.
Would post where I got the info but I'm at college so v limited internet access (surprised I can get on here!)0 -
o2's online sim cards generally only come with 1mb worth of GPRS data free. The £10 your friend tops-up by isn't line rental and he still gets to keep the £10 to spend on calls, texts, MMS or anything else.0

They tend to also come with free texts and calls as well, O2 are giving these free again http://freesim.o2.co.uk/messages.php2p off is still 2p off!0

Yea I've gone down the o2 Online route, I've got some settings that're slightly different from the norm ones supposedly, and basically it means that even tho I've never topped up I've got unlimited GPRS access

Only caveat is its abit crap (no cookies, and GPRS not IGPRS (which is a fine line, means you can't use stuff like Agile Messenger (MSN/ICQ/Yahoo/AOL client for Symbian) or N-Gage Arena. Also I constantly (every 10 mins or so) get a txt telling to topup hehe.
I found an alternative too (cheap, not free), Orange charge the least for GPRS of any UK carrier (assuming you've got a contract with them, you can get Orange World 4 (4MB/month for £4) with every additional MB costing £1, or Orange World 10 (£10 for £10) + additional costing 80p (I think thats right), which isn't cheap but it is IGPRS and it is the cheapest (AFAIK).
BTW PM me for the settings

Thats because GPRS is free on 02 contracts until June 2005 (you only pay for downloading ringtones etc), then after June they you only get the 100kb allowance, anything over that is charged at around £2.35 a MB (dont quote me on that) but from what i was told a MB is about 1000 web pages worth (so seems fairly priced!)0 -
Nope, a MB is about 10-15 pages, its not fairly priced at all! (Orange are the best value on this, albeit o2 online PAYG can be free (despite being abit slow and not working with all sites (e.g. ebay
)). 0
