Current account , free or monthly charge ?

I have a Nationwide Flexaccount and keep getting invited to "upgrade" to their Flexplus account with a monthly fee of £10. This account pays 3% AER on balances up to £2500.
As my cashflow is extremely modest I am rarely more than £500 , often less , in credit but never overdrawn.
Apart from the 3% interest the additional benefits offered are of little value to me. Would I be wiser to stick with my existing account ?

Is there value in their 5% FlexDirect?

If the benefits are of little or no value to you, don't sign up.0

Thankyou for your reply.
I don't think so. This rate is fixed for first 12 months and then reverts to 1% gross p.a./ AER variable afterwards.
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. I shall stay as I am.0 -
Thanks Dan. That's the conclusion I have come to.0

The product offerings are a mess (at least LBG streamlined), which is why I left...telephone banking were all very polite but like TSB most were not fully trained and I got sick of being placed on hold - for a basic cashcard account I used abroad.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... True. Although the nationwide account does have some very good features that I find very useful.
They should include NW co-operative car insurance and they would clean the UK current account market up :jSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies...
