Bravecto gives 3 months flea and tick protection with just one dose, it's what my vet is recommending at the moment.
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D

My neighbour got Lymes disease in November a few years back after being bitten by a tick whilst gardening, so they are around late in the year also.

Have you read about the bad side effects dogs are experiencing with this? Including seizures. I wouldn't feel comfortable giving an animal a powerful insecticide to be taken internally. Far too many of these drugs hit the market only to be withdrawn again several months or years later.

If you are worried I would chat to your vet. Ticks bites are very common. Where do you buy a Scalibor Collar and do you recommend it? I have never heard of this before. Thanks!

I search Amazon for the cheapest offer. I tis available without a prescription.

I think this year I bought from Vetuk

I used to use Frontline but as it works after ticks attach i used to find ticks on the dogs and sometimes on the floor where they had dropped off.

A couple of years ago I read a recommendation for the Scalibor collar from someone who lives in the New Forest area.

I have used them for two years now have only found one tick on one dog in the first week of using- they take a few days to have full effect.

I paid something like £16 per collar for six months cover against monthly costs for Frontline.

The collar works through the hair oils. It is not absorbed into the skin as Frontline.

Vets also sell a Seresto collar which covers fleas and ticks but my vet quoted over £50 per collar ( it is a prescription medicine) so I stuck with Scalibor.
