OP - note the advice on this website about the change in policy re FIT registrations.
All existing renewable energy installations with an MCS certificate issued before 15th January 2016 must submit their Feed-In Tariff application by 31st March 2016 or they will never be able to claim any Feed-In Tariff or Export payments.
Deadline's passed anyway, I'll still have to raise this as a separate issue after all's set-up.
I don't know whether I should be pointing the finger at the builder St Modwen now - they told me I needed to register meters and PV with Scottish Power, and if the remarks in posts above are correct, then I didn't necessarily need to, and didn't need to deal with the SP shower.0 -
Though the 'Deadlock Letter' is part of the industry complaint system, it's not vital
The procedure is that you make a formal complaint to the supplier, then after 56 days, ( 8weeks), have elapsed from the date of the complaint you go directly to the Ombudsman, you don't have to have a Deadlock Letter.
The Ombudsman will take no interest till the 8 weeks have elapsed, so it's no surprise you have not heard from them
On day 59 after you sent the letter, contact them again.0 -

Thanks. That date is 23/MAY. I did chase them on the phone again earlier and supposedly someone will call back before Friday, but I don't believe them for a second. Scottish Power that is.0 -
Received an email headed "action required" from SP today following call yesterday. Said I needed to log on and review my messages to see how they'll handle the complaints procedure. Upon doing-so, I'm greeted with, "Your account is being created. Please come back later to access your personalised website." All from a do-not-reply email...
Looks like I'll wait for that phonecall.0 -
Today I received a bill for;
- Electricity only; even though I'd previously declined to set up two separate accounts on grounds of increased cost.
- Charged on 'standard quarterly cash'; even though I'd been promised the cheapest rate as at September 2015.
- For estimated readings; even though I'd clearly laid-out readings in the complaint letter.
It also transpires;
- The gas and electric start readings are wrong, despite me supplying them over the phone in January.
- There's no record of the complaint letter sent on 29/MAR/2016.
- I haven't had the callback promised last week, but have been given another promise that someone will contact me.
Apparently the bill/account has been 'locked' and I won't be sent another demand for payment.
Do Scottish Power read this forum? I know this is typical behaviour for them - I guess I'm hoping I can shame them into doing something.0
