I'm with Newgirly on the mortgage provider thing Try Harder - fair enough to leave it a couple of weeks, but do keep at them!
If you're struggling for motivation have a read back of this thread - you're doing so well in such a short space of time! I've been struggling the last few days (I think all the politics makes it harder to concentrate on the small things we can do), but it's nearly a new month and a fresh payment to look for!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hi TryHarder
I am really sorry to read about the problem with your friends, I am sure it will get sorted out and you can get back to normal. I just think everybody is in a different situation were money, goals and expectations are concerned and as a result people should understand that not everybody is the same and accept that.
I really do hope July brings you better and happier times.
Take care and have a nice weekend.

Its definitely not easy when most of us have had a long time of not budgeting and living pay day to pay day never really knowing where are money is going. We are never taught about budgeting or financing in school so we have to reserve our mind-set. Keep with it, hope you feel better. Id imagaine being free of a mortgage is such an amazing thing.Original mortgage £158,000 over 25 years, end date 2036
Predicted utopia date 2021 15 years early
Current mortgage £52,928
2016 Over-payments to date: £5000 :j

You are doing great. Check back with the bank re your mortgage. How have house prices changed since you bought? Have you had any extension work done which you could argue increases the value? Getting below the 60% LTV gets you the best deals.MFW 91 op 2014 £410/1000
MFW 91 op 2015 £4051/4000
MFW 91 op 2016 £4040/4000
MFW 91 op 2017 £812/45000 -
Amazing job on the OP's! I think it sounds like you are being too hard on yourself when you say you are lazy, you are doing fabulously! Hope things with your friends get sorted out and your vintage selling sounds so interesting!

Good moring to everyone ,it is a beautiful sunny day here today and that really cheers me up and spurs me on. Thank you to everyone who wrote to me after my last post, i probably didnt clearly explain what i meant but i was mainly referring to the views between myself and my friends on the referendum and that was what had led me to feel low ,the fact there is so much difference of opinions but i suppose that is a good thing as a whole .I tend not to speak about any of my financial life amongst my closest friends .Thank you Mctaggus, i am trying very hard .Thank you lightbulb moment and streethack for your support .Cookie9 you are right ,a house a few doors along from me has just sold for a lot more and is smaller but my mortgage company said i have to pay their valuer £160 and if it comes back lower (they have valued it at £237500)then their valuation will have to fall so its a gamble but you then still have to go through the affordabilty checks so im not sure. Thank you jodles6 and yes i love anything vintage ,i have bought too much in the past to sell but sadly it never goes as i love it then cant bear to part with it but now all must go.Now for regular monthly update for june which i saw on busymee1s page and thought i would copy as its a great motivator when you see it in black and white mortgage overpayments £1022.30 regular mortgage payment £676.15 bad part interst paid to building society £549.44 savings this month £742.28 wow having just added that all up its amazing i have absolutely no idea how i did it all down to my hard working husband .0

Congrats on your journey.
Enjoying the diary but can you please split long posts into paragraphs. Makes it so much easier to read. Thanks and good luck.0
