Thank you lightbulbmoment ,you are doing much better than me at the old ebax selling ,as usual i am being lazy and not keeping up the momentum. It appears tobe free listing again this month so should really be taking advantage and pushing it to the max.Yes please put your thinking cap on when all ebax selling is completed and i will copy haha, seriously though an ebax business would be good but its finding something that is a good seller and its hard isnt it? How true katep23 ,i am hoping i can turn things around slightly in the next 10-12 years before we retire ,a lot can change in 10 years ,i have lots of plans in mind ,i would like to pay off my mortgage ,clear my debts, save ,buy a bigger house ,buy a new car and still enjoy my life as i go through the years so not much then but you can only dream and so many people on here have achieved this and more its definitely doable i just need to become more motivated and this i am having problems with i tend to live more in dream world.0

Almost 3 months ago i joined this group and wrote how dreadful i have been with money over the last 30 years.Today i looked at my mortgage online and it is standing at 167,268 i can hardly believe i have paid off almost 3,000 pounds in 3 months ,i am amazed ,what a difference being in this group has madeit is quite remarkable, more so by the fact that i have never saved in my life and now have savings toowhich are earning interest ,another thing i have never had in my life.So to every one on here (and i am trying to read through everyones diary)thank you all for your great stories and help and supportit is definitely very uplifting and it works.Today i have another no spend day as we are going to a friends for dinner and i have sold one item on ebay overnight just one problem ,i dont know where it is ,oh dear.0

Thank you shangaijimmy ,you are one of the lovely people who has supported me and given me great advice.I am reading through your diary and can see how much you have learnt since the early days ,you have come a long way thats for sure and yes i would love to do as well.We have fairly similar time scales as although i have written 10 years i actually had 9 years and 9 months left to run when i began this thread so i believe i have about 9 years 6 months left now ,so have to catch up a little.I wanted to ask if you or anyone could help me with a question.Iam on a 3.88 or 3.99 % interest deal my friend has a much lower interest rate and pays £200 less a month than me in interest ,i tried to change my rate but was told as my husband had become self employed and was on a much lower wage we would not be eligible to change ,this seems very unfair ,it means we are paying £200 a month more to the bank than our friend because of a one and a half percent interest difference. Is there anything we can do thank you.0

Hi Try Harder,
Sorry, I'm not good with technical questions, but I imagine the reason the bank has said that is because of the stupid new affordability rules - have a read of this: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/mortgages/2016/06/i-was-a-mortgage-prisoner-but-escaped-thanks-to-mse-and-saved-3600.
Hope you found the ebay parcel!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thank you the madvix for sending me the link ,i immediately rung my building society who of couse said that they had never heard of it and then said i would have to get my ltv down by 25000 pounds before i could apply for a better rate but would still have to go through an affordability check ,but one small bit of good news the value has gone up to £240000 according to them of course. But i will have a good read through this tomorrow and maybe try again in a couple of weeks ,thank you very much.0

Finally caught up with your diary try harder and you have done amazingly well in such a short space of time, well done :T
As for the mortgage company, I thought they had to let you switch deal (not term or from repayment to io or vice versa) Chelsea our bs failed us on just about everything they could have last year, but we were told even not passing any affordability, that we could still change deals when ours ended.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Well done on such amazing progress so far :T0

Afternoon everyone, thank you eating the elephant for your encouragement and thank you newgirly for your advice ,i am going to leave the mortgage problem for a few weeks then try again .It has been a bad week on the food budget front and i need to get back on track after today.I have sold 7 items on ebayx since the weekend so that side of things is going along nicely and i have made another overall payment into my mortgage spread evenly across the 4 sub accounts .I am still struggling to be more motivated luckily my husband is still working very hard so he makes up for it but i feel im becoming lazier and lazier which isnt good,i must try and push myself into doing more .0
