Tablet v Laptop

I am a .NET Software Developer. I have a decent desktop - worth about £1K. I want to buy a laptop/tablet so that I can sit on my sofa and RDP (Remote Desktop) to my PC. I am trying to decide what to buy.

I was thinking about a Surface Pro 4 Tablet. I would be interested to hear from other developers and what hardware you have at home.

.net development environment needs very low specs...looking at about 5gb of HDD space, probably a Pentium Duo core and about 2gb RAM.
