Same number as on web site - just automated menu, with no option to order a new PIN

Trouble is I forgot PIN and now locked out of reader and account and online

You do not need a PIN to log in.

    To order a PIN: http://www.nationwide.co.uk/support/support-articles/troubleshooting/order-a-new-pin-or-pin-reminder

If you have forgotten all your login details, go into Branch, taking proof of ID with you.

This needs clarifying as despite being a customer for 15 years I didn't realise this for some time after pinsentry was introduced.

It's a blue "Log in using memorable data" button on the right side of the second screen after you enter your customer number.

    options 2 >> 1 >> card number

The only problem is that they are 'busy' ATM and you have to wait in a queue.

gets me to the same old auto menu

The only 2 PIN options are

    1. an PIN reminder
but I know what my PIN is but I'm locked out of card reader after 3 bad tries

    2. a new Pass Number

@ Grumbler : you said they were busy ATM - sort of implies you thought you were about to get thru to a person - is that what you thought
    maybe I tried too late

Their customer service are open 24/7 and if you listen to the Options there is Always an option to talk to a person. You should have your account number to hand.

Apparently if you still know your PIN but have locked yourself out of card reader by using the wrong one, You can reset your PIN at an Nationwide ATM. via its PIN services menu
