Getting a better deal from Sky

I'm currently undecided about whether to cancel Sky completely or try and get a better deal with them. Currently I have the Sky Variety bundle and HD paying £41.25 per month (due to increase to £44 soon) which seems a pretty high price considering I rarely watch tv (the missus watches it a lot more than me).

I would watch a lot more if we took the sports package (I'm a football fan) but would need multiroom for this to work.

I don't want to pay anymore than I am currently paying, is this doable ? If not then I will probably just cancel sky.

I am out of contract.

Yes it is. Myself, like many others here, are paying a lot less than £44 for Family/Sports/Movies/HD.

Have a read through the haggling thread to give you some ideas of what to aim for and what the current deals are. Also note that you may well have to actually tell them you are cancelling, and let the clock start ticking before you get the better deals. Especially if you have been happily paying full price for a good period of time, as Sky will think they have the upper hand anyway.
