Alternative to Sky or Virgin

We have already got a ps4 though and think we can get Now tv through that? Might be a temporary solution if nothing else, as soon as we get broadband put in.0

Now TV have Entertainment Movies and Sports passes (Sports come in day, week and month passes). The Entertainment pass is at most £6.99 a month. Though as above you can often get deals which allow you to get a pass for much less. The Movies pass is £9.99 again you can get deals which allow you to pay less. The good thing about Now is you can watch it on a couple of devices eg two Now Boxes at the same time or two LG Smart Televisions. You can register up to 4 devices. These can be an I pad or an Android tablet so you can take it with you on the go in the UK (subject of course to data access or wifi availability).
How strong is the landline signal where you are? Talk Talk and BT both have television services as part of their packages but only if your signal is over a certain strength. It can be worth combining services to get a good overall range of programs. Though I have not used these myself so cannot comment on how good they are.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0 -
Thanks for your reply datlex.
I've been on the BT site and they won't provide a substantial package (BT infinity) because the signal strength isn't strong enough. I think our best bet is Now tv and a cheap but speedy broadband connection. If we get fed up we can get a dish once the last house on site has been built or hope Virgin have got to the area.0 -
One word of advice. I see that you are moving to a new build which probably means that BT are going to have to provide new infrastructure.
This is quite often provided by the developer these days, but BT still have to 'connect you up'.
We have read of many instances on these forums where customers have been waiting weeks or even months for this to happen after they have moved in.
I suggest that you have a word with the developer to make sure that all this has been sorted out with BT in advance.
We have recently had a new development built in our village where the developer 'forgot' to order BT and people ended up waiting over 6 months for connection.0 -
Thanks Mister G that's a really good point. When we went last week the wires were there but BT hadn't been yet.0
