Tru my big dog Rosie is exactly the same, have had her since she was a 12 week old pup but know not to disturb her if she is on her bed asleep. She can also wrinkle her nose if woken up. You learn to watch for signs from animals, they are entitled to their own space at times. X0

Hi everyone,
Tru, I react like Scampi if I don't get my "me time". I sometimes wonder if I'm turning into a recluse when I don't see anyone except DH for days on end.
We had a lovely day yesterday - it was so beautiful we went for a walk around the picturesque Bolton by Bowland. It was meant to be 5 miles but we cut off a corner so it ended up more like 5. My legs are aching today.
We then went straight to a popular pub in Malham but thought we wouldn't have much luck as the place looked rammed. We managed to get a spot in the car park, there was one table in the bar. I gave my order to DH (no need to look at the menu, they do the best steak pie) and by the time he got back with the drinks the food was being delivered. The whole thing took us 35 minutes because we left to give another couple the chance of a table. Normally that wouldn't suit but it was just what we needed last night.
We're going into Skipton this morning, I want to got to Holland and Barrett and to M&S to get some quick meals as I don't really feel like cooking much this week.
Have a good day.0 -
Morning all. We've got the rain with a vengeance. 10k later I looked like a drowned rat. Boy that shower was lovely.
Just finished Pancakes for breakfast. Now I have to get wet again to walk the FurryBeast. Joy.
Have a good day everybody.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Morning all
Cold and wet here, I was up during the night with an upset tummy, feel ok now but don't want to eat.(Won't do me any harm to miss a few meals!)
I didn't get up until 10:30 then I cooked hubby his breakfast as I feel well enough for that.
The DW & WM are chugging away and the fish have been fed.
Yesterday I got the washing dry on the line, today it will be drying on the maiden.
I've finally started on the border of my blanket so it's nearly finished.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone and thank you NMLC for the thread . Good luck with the decorating I hope you manage a rest some time in the next few days .
GERS Enjoy the time with your friends I hope the weather will brighten up for you .
Oh LAINEY spacehoppers ! I wish I had a pound for every time I fell over one of those when the children were young . We are very exposed to strong winds from the Irish sea and I would carry a heavy basket of washing out to the lines and often one of the bloomin things would blow into my path and trip me up .
SNOOZER Sounds like a lovely day out yesterday . I love Malham .
CANDLELIGHT I hope your husbands blood tests will show improvement - always such a worry but hopefully good news Amazing success with the bs diet , it sounds as if your tastebuds are retrained .
Dear TA thank you so much for the hug today . It's amazing how a kind thought can lift the spirit very much appreciated .I hope all is ok with MR TA . Enjoy the weekend .
Well it's very windy here and cloudy but no rain as yet . I plan to wrap up well and potter in the garden , it always helps clear my mind and put things into perspective . I will have soup for a quick lunch and head outdoors . Sausage , mash and onion gravy later .
I noticed before posting I had a lovely pm from LYNN I have read it but although I have tried to reply it isn't happening . I know she is well into her journey now but would like to acknowledge her kind words for her to see when she returns . If any here could tell me how to do so I would be grateful .
Have a good day all, as JUDI says onwards and forward !

My little dog just wants to sit on my lap today and have cuddles, he is a real cuddle bunny most of the time, but he has times when he just wants to curl up on his bed, very rarely though.
DH has taken a load of stuff up to the tip this morning which has cleared some space, the decluttering is ongoing, but I am determined to get it done because it has taken over, the trouble is with my dodgy knees and shoulder everything takes so long
Grey drizzly and dank today, what a difference to yesterday when we spent most of the day pottering in the back garden and cleaning it up.......... well I pottered and he cleaned uplooks a lot better now. He wants to tackle the front on the next dry day we get. He has a week off for Easter which is nice, having a chill day today doing whatever we want today.
Steak, chips and mushrooms tonight
Lamb tomorrow and Gammon with salad on Monday Already had it all in the freezer and with the super six this week I have plenty of veggies to last for over a fortnight that I have prepared and frozen, going to get a lot more when we go shopping on Thursday
Off to sort out some lunch; parsnip and apple soup today thanks to the 25p S6 parsnips and a sad looking apple in the fruit bowl yum.
JackieO have you thought about using pear instead of apple in the parsnip and apple soup recipe?

Afternoon. (((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))) if you need one.A quick trip into Bingham to the ironmongers, OH wanted wire. Whilst we were there we saw the library and went in, despite us living in Leicestershire we can join the library, so we did. Now Aldi has opened it will be our shopping town of choice, its cheaper fuel wise than going into Melton and we have to pay to park if we go to the library, in Bingham there is a large car park and its free. Thats the way to attract tourists!!
Phone call when I got home, DD1, we are coming over with the freezer are you going to be in...... so the freezer is now in the sewing room. It needs cleaning out, but I will do that tomorrow when I can plug it in. I just have to fill it now.
Nasty morning we had rain, but it seems to have cleared, its very windy and has blown the cloches off the seeds. The sun is trying to get through. OH has gone for his siesta, I am going to read for a while. I need to cook some mince for tonights supper, will do it a bit later.0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Hugs to everyone, its a very grey day here compared to yesterday. I do have washing out as its very windy so I am hopeful it will be nearly dry before I have to fetch it in:D
DH and DS are both at their respective jobs but will be home for dinner. DD will be working this evening, she has a friend over and there is lots of laughing which is lovely to hear.
I have just been pottering this morning doing little jobs indoors, but I have made 6 jars of marmalade using the prepared sevillle oranges you can buy in the supermarket. It looks really nice so I'm looking forward to sampling it later:rotfl:
Not sure what to make for dinner, I think I may make a curry to warm us all up. Yesterday I did the bulk of the shopping, but just have to pop out shortly as I haven't got anything for tomorrow. I can't justify buying lamb, so will have a look for something else and see if I can get some YS bargains;)
Have a good afternoon and evening everyone x.SPC 11 #4450 -
DOH !!!
A chat with the postman who obviously does not deliver on Sundays has made me realise I have sent LYNN on her journey a day early .
Thanks for your message LYNN - I could read but couldn't see how to write and post a reply . It wasn't like replying on here . I sometimes wish mse had a faq page . No doubt I will get there !
Safe journey and I hope you get to see your intended destination .
We have had a heavy downpour for the last 40 mins , now seems to have stopped . The sun is trying to break through so off to the garden again .

I'm horrendously out of touch with happenings on the Daily, as I've spent the last 2 weeks trying to get used to Mr LW being at home all the time. It's great having him here, but somehow my tasks, far from being quicker with 2 of us here, seem to be taking me twice as long. I don't quite understand this - answers on a postcard, please.
Anyways, (((HUGS))) and posi-vibes for all who are in need - if I stop to read back, I shall never get caught up!Scampi's taken himself off to his 'me time' spot. He likes to be with you, whatever you're doing, but every now and then, he has a few hours of wanting to be away from everybody so he curls up on a blanket in the corner of the lounge. I leave him to it, just wish a certain someone else would. 'Oh he looks so cute' then goes to stroke him, he wrinkles his nose (that's ignored) then will snap at the air. I tell them to leave him alone when he's like this then I get accused of being controlling and asked sarcastically why everything has to be my way *sigh* I don't sigh actually – I get cross, tell them to get a grip, pay attention to his behaviour and listen to the advice from other people that YOU asked for!
Jack Spaniel is with us; he's 4 days into his 17 day stay, and he's such a good boy.The only difficulty is he wants to make friends with every dog he sees in the field, and he's very big and muscular (English Springer Spaniel) but Mr LW is coming on our walks with us, so he helps to hold Jack when necessary (Jack's had me off the mobility scooter once - embarrassing, much!!). Apart from that, he loves his food, sleeps soundly at night (very soundly - he snores as loudly as Mr LW) and is very good about being left to "guard the house" when necessary. :A
Nearly walkies time, so I shall depart now - will try to do better about reading and posting. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
