Anger after Thorpe Park 12p ticket gaffe

Technical fault?
Or somebody in their IT department deliberately pressing the button early, having told all his mates (and mates' mates etc) about doing so?
I know which I think is more likely:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

If this is the worst thing to have happened to you this week I think you're doing OK. Let's get some perspective on this, you missed out on cheap theme park tickets...fairly amazed at Martin Lewis's comments too, why should they do anything about it? They sold a bunch of cheap tickets to promote their new attraction, they don't owe anyone anything! Be thankful that you found out so quickly they were all gone rather than spending two hours refreshing the page because their website died!0

...........and now that they have received a whole load of free publicity, expect them to re-run the offer as "an apology" and get even more free publicity.0

I don't see how that is relevant to the discussion about them releasing the tickets early?.
But I disagree with that because how many people do you know who spend more in a park than the price of the tickets?. I've certainly never spent more in a park than the price of the tickets. Even though the prices are high in the park I would still say it's atleast 50% of the value of purchases on the park.
I disagree with your disagreement!
The point made is entirely relevant - what's the point of 'saving' £xx getting into an amusement park when you're going to spend a fortune on snacks and sundries when you get in anyway? Regardless of your experience, a lot of people do spend quite a bit, in that respect the offer was just a gimmick to get people in and spending at the concessions (and free advertising, as others have mentioned).
As always, MSE is focused on 'deals' that we probably don't need anyway.0 -

The whole point of them offering the tickets was obviously just for publicity!. They aren't worried if people come in and don't spend any money in the park!. The cost to them is very small considering the amount of publicity it has got them. So the price of food is irrelevant considering that you can bring your own.
But I really don't know the point in discussing their motivation behind this offer. I don't think anyone would think they are just doing it as a favour to their customers lol.
I agree that nobody "needs" this offer but there are not many things people really need. But it has saved me a lot of money because I was planning on going to Thorpe Park anyway.0
