    what about a more simpler scenario?

    A Parent paying deposit/rent for a child when out of town in uni?
    My concern is about money landing on the account from a person not on the lease...or is that nothing to worry about?

    If you are the landlord, why not have the tenant plus the guarantor. It doesn't matter who pays you, but you need clarity on who the tenant is, and who you can chase for money.

    If the company is renting the property for an employee then it may not be an AST. As the company is not making it their residential home. It then becomes a contract bound by contract law, rather than the greater rights given under a tenancy agreement.
