So you agree that the start of the draw is dictated by the celebrity's actions.....

You should really apologise to the poster where you stated they were wrong that the timing of the draw was linked to the celebrity's actions. You now agree that they were right.

    It's an Easter miracle.
Debating with you is so predicdable.
Firstly you start with the insults.
Then you repeat the same thing over and over again,
And thirdly, you refuse to answer a simple question.

If you are so convinced that someone pressing a fake button, a button that is not physically connected to the draw machine in any way has a "significant effect" on the draw, why can't or won't you explain how when the draw started before this button was pressed, the actual pressing of it had any effect?

You keep stating that it is a a fact, so surely you can prove that CD pressing this button affected the draw despite the machine already having picked the first ball at the time the button was depressed.

I think the highlight of this thread has been the jreacher / George Michael squabble!

(I'm with jreacher on this one!)

    Can someone start a poll?!

    Let's go back.....

A poster posted that the random factor in a lottery draw was when the celebrity pressed the button.

You posted that wasn't true as pressing the button has no impact on the start of the draw.

I disagreed as pressing the button is the trigger that causes the draw master to press the actual button. Therefore the poster was right to say this was an important action.

You disagreed and posted an article about Craig David pressing the button after the draw started. This article clearly states that pressing the button is the cue to starting the draw and in the Craig David scenario a mistake was made due to the fact he hesitated on the way down to pressing the button.

Therefore in the Craig David example the pressing of the button did have an effect on the draw as even though the draw had already started the action of moving towards the button was what made the draw start.

You are now trying to shift the argument by saying I am insulting you to try and deflect. The only word that can be slightly called insulting was when I said you were being stubborn. Which I think you are being.

The amount paid for 5 + the bonus ball was also very low.

Most draws have given somewhere in the 90k to 100k range but this one was only £10, 000.
A nice sum but not really life changing for most people

I think when they increased the numbers they reduced the prize for five plus the bonus ball to only around £50k
  • I don't do the UK lottery very often (not because I don't like the odds, it's just that I can't do it online and can't have an account), but I'm glad I wasn't one of the 5 ball winners on Wednesday.

I know that winning then wouldn't have changed the odds of me matching 5 balls on another draw but the wait to see how many £ thousands people had won only to find that it was £15 must have been a real killer, especially if they had already gone out to celebrate and has splashed out far more than their winnings.

The posts about celebs and machine operator are boring and irrelevant. Marked them spam.

Just put on this thread that people are not clever in playing numbers with patterns. Choose a combination of numbers - ideally with higher numbers which is random.

  • Then again, now might be the time to start choosing numbers based on patterns as many people who have previously done this might change their way of selecting numbers in the future.
Because of what has happened so there may not be too many tickets with 7,14,21,28,35 & 42.

The only number not circled is 28, that sums it all up!

I wonder how many of those other 5 number winners had 28 as the last number! Would have been hilarious to see a few million split 4000 ways for the jackpot!! (About £250 per person, per million)

As I said, the lotto players that did the multiples of seven are to blame. I only sympathize to the odd lucky dip winner, which I guess is a max of two.

Tonight's draw has been done and the draw again, another rollover - 5,12,43,51,55,57 bonus 28 (it appeared now, not on Wednesday. Five numbers were 65 winners winning £1620, normal amount of winners and 4.2k winning £169.

Look no pattern in numbers drawn, but win 108 times more.
