Yeah, but he doesn't do it 5 times...0

The selection of the winning numbers might be random, but the selection of numbers by contestants isn't.
Slightly philosophical, but mathematically correct, the winning numbers aren't truly random.
Similarly, a 'lucky dip' at the till isn't random either.
Nothing is actually random if you know all the variables involved.
The time taken for the celeb to push the 'stop' button is the variable you don't know until after all tickets were sold, retaining the legitimacy of the draw.Legal team on standby0 -

I do it once and don't do it 4 times. Does that mean I'm £8 a week up :huh:0 -

I don't know if you are referring to the start button that is pressed by a celeb, but if you are, this button has no effect whatsoever on the draw as it's not connected up to the draw machine in any way.0 -
It would have been better if 28 had been drawn and over 4,000 people though that had won the jackpot, to then find it was only a few thousand each.0

Indeed. To be clear. The variable of the time between the halls dropping, and the first ball being pulled out is the variable no one knows prior to the start of the draw. Everything else is known, or is just physics.Legal team on standby0 -
The only people to blame for this are the ticket players themselves, thinking they are the only ones playing seven times table, other numbers with a pattern or birthday numbers.
Choose lucky dips and random numbers. My friend does her house numbers, lived in five houses before then moved into a house numbered 51 in November. Won 3x £25, 1x £150-165 (4 numbers) and about eight lucky dips. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

It might not be connected to the draw machine but the action of the celeb pressing the button starts the machine as the actual machine controller waits for the celeb to press the button before starting the draw.
Therefore it does effect the draw as its signals the start.0
