Vodafone Verbal Contract

I called Vodafone last week to try and get an upgrade on my phone as my previous contract had ran out. I was greeted with a very pushy man who said he could not offer me a good deal unless I signed up with broadband. I told him that I did not need broadband and if he could not help me I would have to leave Vodafone. He was very rude and I just had to stop the conversation as it was getting late. The next day I phoned back to cancel my contract as I had found a deal elsewhere. The man that I spoke to this time was very helpful and offered to better the deal that I had found online. He matched the phone, gave me a bundle (1000 minutes, unlimited texts, 1GB data) all for £10 a month, I agreed and he said the phone would arrive the next day. The phone arrived 5 days late after I chased it up. I then checked my new contract online and saw that I was actually signed up to pay £17 a month with a smaller bundle (500 mins, unlimited texts, 500MB data). I have spent hours on the phone to Vodafone trying to get someone to solve this. They have said they cannot give me the deal that I originally signed up for but I can return the phone. Although I can't seem to speak to anyone with any authority and just keep being passed around. They have now had me on hold for 20 minutes and it doesn't look like they will pick up again. I have already opened the phone and transferred all my data to it. I just want the deal that I signed up for.
Anyone any idea what my rights are here? I signed up verbally to a contract, does that not stand for anything?
Thanks

As long as you have not put the SIM into the phone you can return it. That's what i was told when they sent me a wrong phone once.
Insert the SIM and its mine.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
