Hello
Am UK resident, I open EURO bank account with Barclays recently and I get paid my salary through it,
I want to know how to get the best rate. Should I exchange the EURO amount direct from my euro account to Sterling account through the bank system. or should I withdraw it in EURO and go somewhere where anyone can recommend to exchange and then loaded back to my account in sterling for living expenses.
as I will receive regular EURO payment, I want to know what best option do I have.
Thank you

You will be charged for making a cash withdrawal from a currency account.

It's worth checking http://travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/buy-back
Barclays are likely to charge ~3% for currency conversion.0 -
For €15K you need a currency broker. You'll pay a fixed fee for € transfer, but for such big amount it'll be negligibly small.
Have a look at Revolut prepaid card. AFAIK, you can load it with €, convert to £ at the perfect rate and then withdraw to a £ account.

Transferwise and Currencyfair are often mentioned here.0 -
I just make a call to the currency department at Barcalys and they give me about 300£ less than the market for 15 K euro conversion. they confirmed if it higher than what equivalent to 20K £ then the rate will be better as they said.
Anyway, thanks for all of you correspond0 -
Could you get a better rate from somewhere like TransferWise?#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET
