Orthotic shoes for plantar faciitis

Has anyone had or still have plantar faciitis? I want to buy supportive footwear/insoles but unsure what brand would be best. They are all so expensive-I don't want to make a mistake! I've been looking at Vionics-Sketchers-Fit Flops.
Also any other advice would be welcome as to how to deal with this very painful condition-supplements etc.

I got a referral from my GP (after he gave me an injection ) and was sent to a Podiatry service who gave me orthotics and exercises.
They were custom fit to my foot. There shouldn't be any need to pay but waiting times are a nuisance. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
I have PF and have Skechers Memory Foam insole trainers- no pain at all since I've had them. I wear them to the gym and they're really good. Not cheap but worth the money-however shop around. Mine were £25 in a sale but I noticed Brantano had some reduced when I was in with mum the other day.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

I've had it for 1 1/2 year now. So sick of it. I haven't actually found an insole yet that work but if you haven't already, stretch your legs, maybe even try yoga poses. For me that has helped a little as it relaxes the muscles.0

I went to the doctors with foot pain and was diagnosed with PF...she said not available for any treatment on the NHS...this was Bexhill on Sea....next town along was Eastbourne where a local hairdresser who lives in Eastbourne got treatment on the NHS for PF and was really having to work with the exercises along with various treatments as it can be long time repair condition. My ex Bexhill on Sea doctor said she could only recommend one clinc in Hastings...when I looked it up for more information I saw her name there as a practitioner!
I purchased £25.00 worth of insoles from Boots that have helped not cured but have helped the pain. Ist step out of bed can be the worst so have earth spirit sandels that are great for that...

I had bad PF a couple of years ago and 2 things changed since then - losing a stone, and using memory foam insoles. At the time I was wearing a pair of Merrell sandals a lot which I assumed were good for my feet, but switching to other footwear seemed to help. I wear New Balance trainers for school run etc now which seem to offer more support.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0
