Hi everyone,
Welcome Speky. Judi do you have a drop-in clinic at a nearby hospital for DS to go to?
I've been to Bedford this morning on a run for one of the Good Neighbours clients - I have to pick him up again at 3.15. In between I shall be cleaning and getting ready for our trip up to Yorkshire tonight.
DD is off to Ecuador tonight - they have to stop over in Amsterdam tonight and I'm almost more nervous about that than the rest of the trip given the happenings in Brussels. I don't know where she gets her wanderlust from, nobody else in the family has it, it's just as well her husband shares it. They've already booked flights to India in December!
I need to prepare some pieces for my hand pieced quilt to take with me. I sometimes take my small sewing machine with me but I can't be bothered this time.
Have a good day.0 -

Yes apparently theres a drop in centre at my nearest accident and emergency department. I'll ask him if he wants me to go with him though its so not cool dragging your Mother with you though when your a 20 year old boy with a beard and moustache.:DThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Judi - hope your DS gets sorted soon. Must be a worry.
Well, I've cleared out more junk than I ever thought possible -it's amazing what the thought of visitors can do for my motivation. They aren't staying here but not far away and they'll want to see over every inch of the place so it's all systems go. I've even oiled the slate hearth today, it'll need wire-wooled at some point this year to get rid of the blemishes but for now at least it's not grey and grubby. Cupboard fronts washed down, things put in the little barn which belong there, bags of bird seeds moved from the back hall floor and put into the correct containers, untidy books put away in the large suitcase (some of them at least), coffee table cleared of piled up paperwork which has been scanned and then burnt and so on.
My lovely bank cashier rang at 3pm to ask if I had a flight date yet, she will authorise my card for overseas use and just wanted to check if I was flying away at the weekend as they are shut from now until Tuesday - that was so thoughtful. Benefits of a small branch with only two staff.
Oh, also took a print to get framed, it's only been in the tube since October 2013 when we moved. The friends who gave it to us are going to visit at the end of April so it needs to get on the wall.
BT are bugging me with their inept customer service, not so much the people but the systems they use - 2.5 hours on the phone until one of them understood that the piece of kit I ordered yesterday was not to be sent to my old Newcastle address, I did eventually make him (third person) understand that Newcastle is not only a previous address it's in a different country. Poor souls - think it's sorted.
A very busy day so far, think I deserve a bout of Pointless with my cup of tea.0 -
I am ok camelot thanks for asking, life chez BB has been hectic this last month, what with medical visits and helping my friend who lost her partner
RANT ALERT!!!
I had to go to be assessed by some physio person at a Circle "hub" today 8 miles from home and a real pain trying to find it I am not happy having to go through a private company to be assessed for something my GP would have automatically sorted out, plus they refused to take my name off of share data which I thought I had opted out of, I am fuming and their head office is going to get a phone call from me next week.
She also told me that people with a high BMI are going to be refused medical treatment even though BMI has been shown to be flawed, not just that everyone is only allowed a certain cost of the NHS services so people like me with multiple health issues will see us not getting all of our treatment :mad: and that there is a big shake up of NHS services in June. Maybe if they made health tourists pay up we wouldn't be in this mess :mad::mad::mad:
She has referred me for an x-ray to see if it is osteoarthritis or a frozen shoulder, she thinks it is osteo, the treatment is the same, a steroid injection into the joint and physio, but I have to have the injection by one of their doctors not my own GP, yet he did my husbands after sending him straight for a scan
And breathe.......................
Now for the good news:T
DD has been promoted to supervisor, she has only been there since Jan 6, so I am very proud of her and she got all the tax back that was owing her this week.
We also heard of her best friend getting engagedand I am thrilled for them, they are a lovely couple :j
Well that is all my news up to date.
Gers (((Hugs)))

Good evening chums wet and nasty this afternoon .Eldest DD is off down to their caravan in Deal for the weekend, far too nippy for me at the moment
I am driving my DGS up to Norwich tomorrow so i am hoping the roads will be quiet. Then it will be lunch and top up DGS food cupboard with some stuff from mine (his Ben box:))Probably treat him to lunch then turn around and drive the 180 odd miles back home again.Glad he's not in Glasgow at Uni or we would hardly see him
:):)
Saturday, I intend to relax and do nothing ,just feet up and a bit of knitting perhaps
Weather doesn't look very promising this weekend at all,so being at home in the warm sounds OK to me
No shopping needed as I got it all last week and I am still doing a bit of freezer diving to get the stocks down a bit.I am away in three weeks time for a weeks spring break with my oldest friend so I shan't be doing a great deal of food shopping anyway ,only essentials .
Hope every one has a good easter break and where ever you are that the sun tries to come out a little bit.
Cheers chums
