I am in bed but will need to get up and pack a bag as we are all going down to Dorset for the weekend. Still have a cough and my nose is running so I will be a bonny sight
Must remember to pack tissues and cold remedy as well as some nice tops and trousers. Hoping several cups of tea and an omelette for breakfast before dd picks me up at 9 o'clock will help.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and hugs to all especially Gers, Hester, TA candygirls dd etc."This site is addictive!"

Morning everyone,
Dull and overcast here, it brightened up for about 10 minutes yesterday
Took Mum to see her friend in hospital yesterday afternoon, she insists there is nothing wrong but they are keeping her in until they can find a bed in a rehab unit. I hadn't seen her for over a year and was quite shocked at how she had deteriorated but she was pleased to see us.
Inadvertently started my spring clean as found small leak in cupboard under sink so once all sorted cleaned it out and moved my baking tins in there rather than my saucepans. Obviously once started washing out cupboards it snowballed to the whole kitchen :rotfl:
Work today so better get going, have a good day all.

Tru I hope you had more success cutting your hair than me. I can manage the back ok but decided I prefer a fringe to curtains and I've botched it slightly. I ought to go to the hairdressers really but trying to get money out of hubby is like getting blood out of a stone. I have to ask weeks in advance and then nag.
Meanwhile I walk round with a fringe that doesn't know whether it's coming or going :rotfl:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning, (((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Well the Dyson was terminal, the motor is on its way out, did not have to pay for the visit as I bought a new one direct from Dyson, it should be here sometime today. I need to phone the neighbours and see if they are in this morning. I am going shopping at Aldi in Bingham!! So if it comes before lunch they will take it in for me.
OH has decided to cancel his tooth appointment for this afternoon, he is ringing up shortly, hope they do not charge us for cancelling.
No other plans for the day so far.0 -
Good Morning everyone, grey here today but not cold, just not warm (there is a difference, really!) He Who Knows is out with Cookie and I'm having a housework day and getting everything spick and span before I go off to Sweden for a week with DD1 on Sunday. Getting very excited about that as it gets nearer and am even starting to sort out packing piles in anticipation. We had a good evening last night and won the pub quiz and also won the snowball round too which was a pub card for £70 between the four of us (it rolls over each week if not won) so we'll have a nice meal out on that in the not too distant future. DD1 finished for the term at lunchtime yesterday and is coming here tomorrow afternoon ready to go off on Sunday morning at silly o clock, we fly just after 9.30am so will have to leave here at 5ish for check in/security etc. He Who Knows will have a nice peaceful week on his own and spend much of the time on the allotment which is what he likes best, bless him.
Hope all of you have a good day, Lyn xxx.0 -
Good morning all!!
Road works directed me the longest route ever and added 45 mins onto my journey to work!!! Not a good start.
As I said yesterday, I played football for the first time in a long time and my knee was good - just my fitness letting me down which is something I can fix, so happy days.
Made my own lunch today for work to save me from buying stuff for the cafe across the road and tonight it'll be a chilled one.
I'll check back in later today, but in the meantime, I hope you all have a truly wonderful Thursday. Take care.

Hi all,
Hugs to those that need them - GERS - thinking of you and your family, so hard to have to wait to say goodbye X
Nothing too exciting going on here, apart from we,re skinner than a skint thing - fridge freezer (fridge part) has died - engineer says its terminal - really don,t need this added expense, we,re using neighbors caravan fridge till after Easter and we get paid. All my savings are allocated to DS,s 18th prezzie.
On top of this its DH,s birthday Monday, we,re away for a few days next week for that - booked and paid for and youngest sons 18th early April, luckily I have saved for his gift - DD comes back mid April, and have to pay for ferry and hotel as her flight gets in at 7am - looks like April is going to be a very frugal month - need to do a freezer and cupboard audit - on the bright side at least we have loads of meat in freezer, so we won't starve.

Well done on managing to save in the meantime without a fridge AND having the foresight to save for up and coming birthdays! I take my hat off to you.0 -
Weather has turned nasty here, hopefully it'll drift eastwards soon.
Just going off the tip with yet more rubbish and recycling. And I've got to send back a parcel to M&S - bought a new jacket and top for the funeral but I really don't need to spend that much money for one outing and they're not really my type of clothing anyway. Looks too 'old' for my 62 years!
Then I need to get to the shops as my veggie pile is diminishing too quickly. Have to say that eating so many veggies is wonderful for 'transition'I've got enough meat to feed an army but we'll probably eat out most of the weekend with the visitors.
Ooop - as I write the sun is breaking through!0 -
Morning all,
Hope everyone is okay. Dry at the moment, but rain predicted later.
My stairlift has broken, waiting for the engineer. Had to change my nail appointment but if it's raining, I may not go.
Beef stew tonight, made with tins:rotfl:
Peas, potatoes, beef stew, tomatoes and beans all mixed up! Should be nice, had some before, and it's a good way of using up tins.
Had a lovely da y at the Hospice yesterday. Had reflexology on my feet, slept really well last night too. :T
Have a good day all. xI Believe in saving money!!!:T
