EE wifi calling after initial contract
New to EE and wifi calling - in brief i'm wondering if after the contract term with a wifi calling enabled phone from them i could switch to a cheaper sim only deal but still benefit from wifi calling?
The background:
I have no mobile signal whatsoever in my house and wifi is slow.
EE is the most suitable network for both my husband and i as we'd both be on the same network and could possibly get a signal booster to cover the areas of the house not currently covered and we've a BB and landline package linked to his EE account.
We both need new phones.
We both use our mobiles very little so an expensive 24 month contract is galling but currently looks necessary
TIA

As long as you have a phone that EE allow it on and are on contract (of any type) WifiCalling will work.====0

what if the sim only deal was with someone like giff gaff?0

Well, if you switch to a different network it's impossible for EE to supply any service.
You would need to be on EE, on a handset or sim only contract to use EE WifiCalling.
If you go to Giffgaff you get their value added services, which amount to nothing.====0 -

EE Wifi calling will still work if your sim only deal is with EE and you have the appropriate firmware if required.
Giffgaff doesn't even provide an app solution to use your mobile number over Wifi let alone Wifi calling.
O2 and Three provide app based solutions called TuGo and InTouch that will pretty much work on most smartphones. I seem to recall Vetone Mobile (EE MVNO) also had some type of app. Not as elegant as true Wifi calling but possibly better than nothing.
Three Intouch can be used on any of its plans including PAYG and same with Vectone AFAIK. I think O2 only offer TuGo to contract customers unless that's changed.0
