I have been tasked with investigating a new ISP for my employer - they believe that "Talk Straight Group" - trading as "Schoolbroadband.co.uk" offers a good deal.
This is an independent subsidiary of TalkTalk - so I am wary.
I was wondering if anyone reading this - had any experience of this ISP ?
Any comments - good or bad welcome ...

Let's hope that their broadband is more resilient than their website...

It's not just you! http://www.schoolbroadband.co.uk looks down from here.
    Check another site?

would you "trust" this company after their recent and ongoing problems , with your security?

    I would not!

even after booting talk talk out over a month ago , I am still getting "scam" phone calls telling me my router is faulty.

the phone was/is ex directory , and the scammers (talk talk and ex talk talk employees) know my full name /address and account number.

due to them loosing a lot of customers after there "hack" (which the school children were never charged with! they are looking to diversify .

I regret you have a long road ahead of you. After 12 months of trouble free broadband we continue to receive scam calls. On average we get 5 a week. At "best " we have had 3 in 3 hours. The data they have is accurate talk talk data known only to them and us. But TalkTalk deny that the data was released by them.

Their complaints team refuse to answer direct questions and lie. The bold Baroness won't respond so she can't be accused of lying. The Complaints Manager, one Dawn Nutkins, has refused to address the issue. She has stated that the data did not come from them but can't quite explain how confidential data, name telephone, number, account number is now in the hands of crooks in India.

The ICO have not yet constructively responded to my complaints.

I would like the forum to take these charlatans to the cleaners. Anyone who receives a scam call email watchdog@bbc.co.uk.

    What say you folks? ;-)

    Talktalkman:

If you want to moan about TalkTalk then be my guest, but do it on a thread of your own or one that already exists to discuss this issue. It is really not relevant to the OP's question.

Post reported for containing personal email addresses so hopefully it'll disappear anyway.

My post still stands , I would not use TT in a business situation , because of there abuse of data.

Thanks all for your comments - I will put in a report to my line manager
it is up to him what he does
But this company appears OK - If you carry out a web search on it
It is part of Didos empire - but is managed totally seperately

Dido and manage in the same sentence is hard to swallow.

Dido lied repeatedly even on TV about the previous data breaches "her" company had , she lied about "free" upgrades for affected members

I as a ex TT user have no confidence in the group as a whole.
