Chargebacks and seller defect

Is there any way to refund on a paypal chargeback claim without getting a defect for Transactions you cancelled for being out of stock Iv'e had 4 of these in the past few months on low value items which have just been sent 1st class.
I know if I don't refund paypal will refund any way and charge me £14.
The defects due to this are really annoying.
Any help appreciated thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean. If you've lost a chargeback then Paypal have taken the funds already.
You do realise you can defend a chargeback with a proof of posting?0 -
I don't always have time to get proof of postage on 99p items so they are just sent 1st class in a post box.
When this happens as I don't have proof of postage I usually just select the item has not been posted issue a refund option as I only sell a few items a month these defects have taken my account to below standard,
I have 7 days to respond to the latest chargeback on a 99p item if I go the way I usually go I will receive another defect for item out of stock.0 -
I would hazard a guess that that is why.I usually just select the item has not been postedWarning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Your statutory rights are not affected.0 -
If you want to avoid the chargeback you'll need the POP. This will prevent the refund and the defect.
I would never select the option 'it hasn't been posted' if it has. But as you are, and if it's causing a defect you'll have to accept it or alter what you do.
How long since purchase are these chargebacks? Are you sure they are chargebacks and not just cases?0 -
They are all payment reversal for unauthorised account activity.
The chargebacks are usually about 10 - 14 days after the sale.
I understand that selecting the item hasn't been posted is not helping but there are no other options I can select and if I don't refund paypal will and I will be charged a fee of £14.0 -
Unauthorised claims on 99p items? These thieves must be desperate!0

It can be fraudulent type behaviour where someone has gained access to an eBay account and they are not interested in receiving the item they purchased, or don't know how to do so without getting caught so they just buy something for the hell of it or in a similar vein, it could be a competitor trying to frustrate the seller.Unauthorised claims on 99p items? Chargebacks are usually much longer after the sale, normally at least a month, when the credit card bill comes......I'm a titanium PS and don't have more than 2-3 a year. 4 in a few months is not normal.
Perhaps you need to spend a few months using the PO and taking their POP in order to stop this running away with itself.0 -
We have 2 of these at the moment, can anyone clarify for certain, if you refund that you aren't charged the £14 please? In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

If you refund you don't get charged the £14 but you do receive a defect on your ebay account.
Ive had a look and all 4 buyers had 0 feedback so I've changed my preferences so no buyer with under 5 feedback can bid will see if this makes a difference thanks for all the replies.
I've now also got a returns request from a buyer for an pair of jeans that doesn't fit as she's too fat her words not mine.0
