Your exit is nt blocked OP, you can get out but you have to take a bit of care. You have no claim whatsoever. Getting a set of parking sensors fitted may help.
I have exactly the same at my house, the partner has rammed the car opposite once and now takes more care. I find if I stop , say a yard away then go forward to make more angle its a doddle. I d sooner stay in good relations with neighbours than start demanding this and that.0 -
You could speak to the local council if it's a public road - our street has a couple of houses opposite with dropped kerbs and a driveway - they aren't in keeping with the rest of the street (most don't have drives) , and they are at no's 1 and 7 - so not next to each other. At some point after having the dropped kerb installed, the local council painted a white line indicating a keep clear area which is wider than the actual drive, up to the edges of the dropped kerb. It's not a problem for anyone in the street, the white line bit is usually kept clear, and the guys in those houses can get in and out, and there's no shenanigans from anyone. Our street is relatively narrow as well. I doubt the white line has any legal repercussions as such, but it works in indicating where people shouldn't park and everyone's happy to abide by that. It might help.0

Cars have had reversing lights fitted as standard for decades - what makes you believe the OP's car does not have reversing lights?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
I am guessing they meant reversing sensors instead of lights.maninthestreet wrote: »Cars have had reversing lights fitted as standard for decades - what makes you believe the OP's car does not have reversing lights?0
