You can select branch on account opening.

My Lloyds account was allocated to "Digital Sales" branch, which I couldn't change online.

BoS and TSB gave a choice of branch.

The Cambridge University branch is a good address and is actually worth visiting. The main atrium is far too spectacular for a small bank branch (see http://assets.johnp.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/wpid-Cambridge-3-Lloyds1.jpg).

I must admit that is a beauty, much nicer than the average branch now!

University of Cambridge branch is a nice one... and the added bonus of making you sound Oxbridge educated. 306442
From checking branch finder, there are 3 sort codes... Why would there be 3 sort codes? :S

The branch my account is allocated to with Lloyds doesn't even exist anymore- they re-assigned the sort code but for some reason it doesn't show the correct branch. My Barclays account doesn't even have a branch- the original branch I held it at closed and it's just Liverpool South now.

This happens where branches have been closed and the business has been transferred to a different branch. Existing customers' sort codes aren't changed (not normally, anyway), so one branch can have several sort codes allocated to it, -it's original sort code and the sort codes from the closed branches.

Ah and I presume the original is 30-64-42 and the other two are closed branches? Strange but interesting nonetheless :)

That's the sort code that is printed on a receipt I have from making a deposit at that branch.

I recently opened a Club Lloyds account, and I went for the branch at 39 Threadneedle Street. It's near the Bank of England, which seemed appropriate.

Can you change your bank branch once the account is opened? I've just applied for a lloyds account and never thought of this! Great little idea
