Tesco mobile fake battery
I had my phone replaced four months ago, with a grade A replacment from tesco mobile as they could not fix my original phone. I noticed that the screen had started to lift away on one side of the phone so i took it to a samsung repair shop. They told me the battery was swollen and that it was a fake battery. I was shocked as this was the same battery that tesco had sent me. I have sent the phone back to tesco who said it failed the manufacturer power test. They have replaced the battery and are sending it back out to me. They have never admitted it was a fake battery. I am not very happy with them just sending me back the phone with a new battery as I dont trust them. Also i dont know if the battery could have done some damage to the phone. Does anyone have any advice on where i would stand with this? is there anything else I can ask for?
Thank you

I think you should wait and see if the battery replacement works perfectly well or not. It's pointless looking for trouble before it occurs, isn't it?
I had a brand new unlocked Samsung Note which suffered a swollen battery after a few months - but it was the original one supplied with the phone. I accepted it as something that appears to happen sometimes as either a defective item or possibly caused by being too often left on charge for longer than necessary, and simply bought a new battery.
It's not necessarily always a fake that causes problems, but sadly even reputable retailers do have the occasional fake goods slip through in their multiple shipments from their suppliers. For example, there are incidences of fake SD cards (labelled as xGB capacity but really only having yGB) having been sold by good stores...not just fleaBay.
Unfortunately, they cannot test them all and so some defective or fake items will always slip through the net.0 -
you dont say what model? but the s4's had a bad batch of batteries that did swell.0

I had my S4 battery swell, brand new phone from Voda. They were probably mistaken and it was a genuine battery.
Unless they peeled away the stickers and outershell they usually wont know the difference. The fakes can be very good.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
