Mr Murdoch's recent nuptials must have cost him a few bob, he's got to get the cost back somehow...No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Am on the original package only and the £2.50 doesn't sound a lot on it's own,but it's actually a 15% increase.
Can't imagine many other firms are increasing prices that much, especially with low inflation.
Wonder how Sky's customer 'churn' rate/retention is going?0 -
Freeview, Freesat (£0 total), plus Netflix and NowTV at around a fiver each, and there's more TV than hours in the day to watch it..... and still including a brace of up-to-the-minute offerings, including Game of Thrones.0

I didn't watch Sky that much so the price hike was the straw that broke the camel's back
It wasn't I couldn't afford the £30 or so, just I came to the conclusion it wasn't worth even what I had been paying so I cancelled and bought a Humax freesat box which so far seems pretty good and after 6 months I gain £30 each and every month.
I did see that as soon as I cancelled I got a 35% off offer to not leave and, once the cancellation had happened, that went to 50% to go back so, if you want to just save, cancelling and then un-cancelling (if such a word exists) will save quite a lot.0 -

I'm the same, having just bought myself a humax box which will do what the sky+ does and so don't really need sky now-only watch the odd show on atlantic which isn't worth £20 a month as I can get all the others on freeview.
I am still in contract for a few months but don't know if anyone can help: I'd normally have to pay an early termination charge with sky if cancelling within contract but does this apply if they've increased the price by over 10%?
Does anyone know(sorry for repeating from other thread!)0 -
Finished with Sky two weeks ago and changed to two Freesat Humax 1100 HDR boxes and three now tv boxes. The now boxes were free as they came with the entertainment passes. Annual cost with Sky £848 compared with initial outlay with Freesat and now tv £480. Twelve months from now my outlay will just be the cost of the now tv entertainment pass and perhaps the movie pass.0

You will have a price protection offer applied so your price won't be going up by more than 10% until the end of your minimum term.0 -

If it works for you then good luck. Many people have this option but still go back to Sky when the right offer comes along.0
